Moving around for 15 seconds is very different to holding on for dear life for two whole rounds, it shows terrible powers of recovery and a lack of dog in Haney. Also I wouldn't consider anyone winning 8-4 total domination. domination implies it wasn't even close, which would be a wide margin like 10-2, 11-1, 12-0. 9-3 and 8-4 are clear decisions whereas 7-5 is a close one. Pretty simple really. Both yourself and Hearn talking total bollocks here, acting like people don't have eyes and couldn't see how Loma wasn't nearly as shaken up as Haney and dealing with it way better.

The hate for Haney was because he said he would never lose to a white boy. It’s the same reason the same group of people (usually British nationalists) hate Bernard Hopkins for saying the same thing. The same group would have hated Ali as well particularly during his more political years....but then again, he did call joe Frazier the “white man’s champion.” But that’s what the hate for him from British fans are about. From Mexican American fans it’s more about seeing him as a rival against the magically cured of all mental illness Cryin GarciaComment

First off Loma fought a 3 years fresher Linares. Loma was never hurt. Haney clearly was. Loma went on to stop Linares, not hug him for the rest of the fight. Not taking anyone's side but call it the way it happened. Haney fought a brilliant 9 rounds and he got caught. Period. There's no shame, Linares is no bum. What's the problem with Haney having just said "yeah he caught me good, credit to him."Comment

There is nothing wrong with being hurt, rocked or dropped by Lineres but come on Eddie your boy wonder was all over the fkking place. I give him credit for staying on his feet and for riding it out like a good pro at the age of 23 but let’s not pretend he wasn’t on rubber legs for a good round and a half

The punch that staggered Haney can be excused, but Haney couldn't keep Linares at bay. Devin couldn't get any respect. none. That is worrisome. When Tiffany jaw says there is no power and nothing to fear, thats the voice of experience talking.Comment

It's important with context here.
As several pointed out: Loma is undersized in that weight division and Linares had a big reach and size advantage. I was surprised to see Haney as the bigger man against Linares.
Lomachenko fought a younger Linares that at the the time where a world champion on a 12-13 fights winning streak.
Loma had a flash knockdown, Haney was on woobly legs.
Loma knocked Linares out, Haney was holding and clinching the last rounds.
Let that sink in
Either way it was a good win for Haney but people love to **** on Loma. Funny with all those fighters calling out Lomachenko has become so quietLast edited by have_not; 06-02-2021, 07:28 PM.Comment

Ok so then a Mexican dating he wouldn’t lose to a Puerto Rican is “racist”.....a Ukrainian saying he wouldn’t lose to a Russian is “racist”....an Armenian saying he wouldn’t lose to a Turk is “racist.....grow up. Stop looking to be offended around every corner. I don’t remember the last time a black fella even mentioned kovalev’s racist remarks which include calling a black Canadian fighter a gorilla.Comment

8-4 is a ratio of 2-1, you have raised the bar to excessive levels for Devin Haney. To your argument that Vasily was not as hurt as Devin, I seen Vasily get chinned by Jorge Linares with 31 seconds remaining in the round 6th round ; the ref ( Ricky Gonzalez ) gave Lomachenka the ten count, the action resumed with 15 seconds left in the round ; Vasily ran away and refused to engage.
The bell may have saved Bumchenko, I'm sure you did not have a issue when Lomachenko got on his bike and made it to see the 7th round.Last edited by RetroSpeed05; 06-02-2021, 08:17 PM.Comment

I don't understand the hate for Haney. Was Haney clipped and on unsteady legs at the end of the tenth? Yes, he was. Did he hold for most of the next two rounds? Yes he did. But Haney also boxed beautifully for 9 rounds. He put in enough work and was up in the fight to be able to hold on for the last two rounds. There was zero need to take a chance when his legs were unsteady and at that point that was Linares' only chance at victory. If you want to be upset at anybody be upset with the ref for not warning or deducting a point. But every last one of us would have held on the last two rounds to ensure victory. And lets give credit to Linares. He came in the fight in great shape. He would have given all the top 135 lb guys hell that night.Comment
