Shawn Porter insinuated that Linares took a dive against Haney?

On Episode 37 of the Porter Way Podcast, Shawn Porter insinuated that Linares took a dive against Haney. He started out by saying that he thought that Linares acted strangely in the championship rounds. Then, it became clear that Porter started to get more and more worked up as he was describing what Linares should of done. He said that Linares had plenty left in the tank after he hurt Haney at the end of the 10th, and a veteran like Linares should've known that he needed to get rough and throw more punches. Adding that Linares should've known he was behind on the cards, and he should have thrown 60 punches in the 11th, and 70 in the 12th. Porter then finally went from calling Linares' behavior strange...to calling it su****ious. Porter ended by saying that he liked Haney so he didn't want to dive down that train of thought.

Was Linares too old to finish the job or was his behavior in the championship rounds su****ious?

Porter said Haney was hurt and holding the entire 11th & 12th rounds but Linares never put his foot on the gas pedal.

I mean linares definitely shoulda had him outta there. I mean it was painfully clear hankey couldn't hurt him so he shoulda just went in for the kill at the risk of burning out his stamina. Not like he was gonna win the decision anyway.

I made a thread about this Linares was not tired at all In those late rds yet after he hurt Haney he literally did nothing just pose almost like he was saying “damn I almost blew it”.

I wouldn’t put it past hearn to do this because deep down inside he knows Haney is a very limited fighter with a lot of vulnerablities.

It'll be interesting to see if we'll get that undisputed fight between Haney and Teo. Hearn doesn't want Haney to suffer a loss to anyone besides Ryan Garcia.

Yeah, even veteran boxers say the darnedest things.

Linares was simply tired. And how can you throw more when the opponent is holding on excessively for dear life? Like Andre Ward always reminds Tim Bradley, "It's easier said than done."

A made a few good points but not all the way through, yes Linares looked like he had a lot left in the tank when he hurt Haney at the end of the 10th round.

But did his corner tell him anything in between rounds? Do we have a recording of what was said to Linares coming out for the 11th round?

Was Linares wary of a wounded animal in Haney at the start of the 11th?

You would think a championship fighter like Linares would know when someone hasn’t recovered and jump on him, but to call it su****ious is way over the top. We have seen fighters getting themselves in trouble by thinking the other guy is hurt, and them getting KOed going for the kill… Ruiz v Joshua came to mind.

One scorecard was as close as 115-113...
