I like Jimmy Lamps but part of that is nostalgia and part of that is his ability to generate excitement with pace and inflection. I agreed with his actual analysis about as much time as I disagreed with it but that's not what he was really there for.
RJJ, in my opinion, was excellent at breaking down what was happening and often times did it in a down to earth "folksy" way. Manny Steward was also excellent at this (one of the best) but articulated things in a more polished fashion. More often than not RJJ would contradict Lampley yet they were still good together.
