Serious question: why are so many people confident that Spence beats Manny, but not confident Spence beats Crawford?

Manny takes a lot of breaks now during fights. Spence gets better over the 2nd half. Also many of Pac's usual counters won't be there because of the Southpaw vs Southpaw angle. I think plain and simple Spence has the jab to control Manny.
You're right about Bud there's nothing to really validate him being better than Spence going by opponents. I think he gets by on the Eye test. A lot of people think of Spence as a heavy-footed plodder, but he's more than athletic enough, and for his kind of style he's actually sound defensively. It's a 50/50 kind of fight in my eyes.
Let's say that the version of Crawford that fought Burns, faced Spence next. THAT (with a ref that stops Crawford from dirty tactics so he's forced to actually use skill) would easily be a 50-50 fight in my eyes, because Crawford was an excellent fighter that night. No holding and hitting, no low blows, no quick trigger ref, etc. He was forced to show me something over 12 and he did.
But that wasn't 147.
And three of his last five opponents were winning rounds by pumping a jab in his face.
One was winning rounds by timing and countering, which resulted in Crawford getting two-pieced, wobbled and dropped.
That's my issue with Crawford. I see a more skilled, less powerful version of Deontay Wilder that has fooled his fans with smoke.
I see him having limited answers to Spence.
If he tries that bum rush crap, Spence will treat him like Porter and time the hell out of him.
If he tries to box, Spence will treat him like both Garcias and jab the hell out of him.
If he tries to get dirty, Spence will get dirty back.
We've SEEN Spence do these things, against four Top 5 Welterweights. Crawford has only done it against the C-level.

Crawford is a beast man. We can pick a part his resume, but there's absolutely no way that you don't notice the skill, the talent, the versatility. He's a multi-dimensional fighter; great tank, very good with his legs when he wants to be and very dangerous offensively. If he wasn't any good, Spence wouldn't have used ever bull**** excuse to avoid him. Neither of them should be chasing a 42 year old, but that's Manny's decision.Comment

I do think on paper Bud theoretically is the harder fighter to figure out. People can keep ignoring the skills they have seen over his past few fights if they want to, they are gonna act shocked when they finally do fight and they realize Spence is in a whole different league than him.Comment

Because manny is a half fight boxer these days
he was already fading after 6 rounds in matches years ago
Suspect stamina isn’t good when facing a terrific body punching pressure fighterComment

Funny thing is if we are going off their last 5 fights(since Crawford moved up to 147) Crawford fights MUCH more flat footed than Spence. I haven't seen Crawford bounce in and out on his toes jabbing his opponent to oblivion like Spence was doing to Danny in the middle rounds of their fight, or drop his hands low and start rolling punches off his shoulders like he did vs Mikey since... I don't know ever to be honest.

I'm more trying to understand why people think that "terrific body punching pressure fighter" loses to Crawford.Comment
