I didn't watch this one as I was on the Nonito card but Haney bores me to hell. I hope, Teo or Ryan knock him tf out because I honestly find his personality boring as f**k and his style equally as boring. These are the kind of guys that hurt boxing at the top level.
I hope people see how garbage Haney is now

Those two things don't compliment each other very well either. Having no pop to keep someone off you, nor the chin to eat any of their shots is a recipe for getting slept.Comment

no doubt about it but he moves pretty good and has good defense so the possibility of him not getting caught with a big ones is also good....do i think he survives lopez? not really but there's still a decent chanceComment

fyi, lopez has recently said he will mandate Haney and fight him.
Is that a serious question?
Lopez just fought like the #1 P4P guy (at the time) and best LW, Lomachenko. He is now getting a mandatory out of the way.
So i’m not sure if you’re being serious.
Lopez absolutely wants to fight Haney and after that performance you have to high to think anyone is ducking Haney.
that's my point, NOW lopez has to take that fight. it isnt about offers. when lopez says 'it's on' it's on. haney isnt ducking anyone, so far others have avoided him and said 'u boring, you not interesting enough'.
if so, then just go in and beat him, simple.

his dad is ****** AF/
right when haney got clocked hard before te bell, haney walked into the corner shaking. He was too embarassed to say 'im fking hurt' on camera so he was just nervously laughing it off whilst his dad just went on with 'this is the round where you close the show'
no, this is the round where you survive.
he looked upset at the end that haney didnt get the ko, but he was never really advising haney in the corner on a strategy to break linares down in an effective way. just looking for an opponents head just doesnt work when you dont have that kind of power. A lot of fighters tend to play with the tempo of a fight and then shock their opponent in one big flash.
Andrade does the same thing, goes head hunting, gets countered and then just goes the distance surviving some rounds.
andrade and haney need to evolve.

Haney has good skills, speed, and a long, active jab. He's still a difficult fighter to fight....
With that being said, Linares is fragile if you work him enough (with all due respect). Haney couldn't welt him; his lack of power is a big disadvantage. If you can't discourage Linares at his old age, then good luck trying to get fighters off of you for the rest of your career.
Imo, that's not even the most alarming thing. You could be a HOF fighter with absolute limited punching power. The most concerning thing is his ability to recover. He's in his early 20's, well trained, and needed 2 rounds to recover from being hurt by a single punch. There will be times in his career where he'll get caught early and, if he can't recover, then it'll be a bad night for him. He's in world class physical condition, and he still has terrible recovery
I remember when I witnessed Tim Bradley get absolutely bodybagged by a left hook from Kendall Holt in the first round. He recovered and pushed the action almost right away. If you have limited punching power, then you must have strong recovery ability when fighters try to walk through you because you can't welt them. I'm not sure if Haney is gifted with this, given what we saw today.Comment

I’m not sure what you mean? Is he not fighting the top 3 guys because he is now better and more popular and is the A-side and PPV attraction? Or you mean because he just found out how mediocre he is and will avoid the top guys out of fear?
Also, how can you duck a paper champion who before tonight had only one decent opponent on his resume, who was 40 years old?
He is mediocre anyway. I doubt fans are craving to see him after all the love he showed Linares with his hugs.
If anything, fans probably will only care to tune in to his fights only if he fights the top guys.
All he did tonight was boost Linares stock and lower his own stock. He also showed he really can’t hurt a fly. This guy was given back to back glass chinned fighters with good names as showcase fights to build up his KO’s column and all he did in both fights was show how much of a true paper champion he is.
