  • Everything I read, "Obaali didn't know where he was!" Uh, he was the ONLY one who knew where he was, Reiss pointed him to the wrong f'n corner! Same for the announcers. Also, nothing illegal about the punch, both fighters were throwing, but fact is, the punch started and landed after the bell, so Obaali should have been given 5 mins to recover and it shouldn't have been ruled a knockdown. I'm a huge Donaire fan but that's just facts. But hey, it's boxing so what rules?

      • I wanted Nonito but thought Oubaali was too fresh and quick for him. Donaire has some fast heavy hands tho.

        • although it was a good ko/tko victory, i still dont see nonito beating ether rigo or inoue tbh....he's is a little more patient but he still gets frustrated when his power punches don't land and follows his opponents in straight lines

          • Great win for Donaire, his story keeps going on and on.

It was a winnable fight for him, as he's always dangerous..that was an emphatic win though.

              • What an absolutely fantastic achievement for a 38year old 118lb-er doing voluntary vada 24/7/365.

Is he still doing that, though? Of course he did the famous VADA 24/7/365 in 2012, but has he really been shelling out for it since then?

Still, though, what a true ambassador to the sport – one of the few remaining classy guys who doesn't have to sell fights using his damn mouth. I'm elated for him, and these young pups need to take inspiration.

Donaire is a Bantanweight dumbsht. Divisions are based on weight, not height. And Walters was 3 divisions up dumbsht. I don't see you complaining about Walters fighting a guy whose natural division was 3 divisions below which is something Donaire has never done.
