It's too deep of a division and always will be but he'll be fun to watch.

At 24 years old he seems ready to take the next step and in a division with a real lack of quality he could soon find himself with a world title shot. He is chasing a fight with Amir Khan however Amir is understandably not keen on this at his stage in his career. How should Conor be guided from here on?
I think it’s too soon to be talking about a guy who hasn’t fought NOBODY.

Yeah I’m not sure. I like the kid but like others said 147 is a real stacked division. Especially with young dudes like Ennis and Ortiz on the way up.

the only problem Conor Benn poses is how hard not to hit him in case his dad comes out of retirement for revenge.

I like the Kid was a huge fan of his Dad but...NO! While yes he has SOME TALENT I don't think he is anything CLOSE to WORLD LEVEL! That Division is absolutely F%CKING LOADED! Even the Prospects and Rising Contenders fighting mostly on this side of the POND are extremely talented:

            Boots Ennis
            Vergil Ortiz
            Eimantas Stanionis
            Rashidi Ellis
            Jesus Ramos
            Janelson Bocachica
            Daniyar Yeleussinov

Even the Veteran Journeymen/Gatekeepers in that Division are Dangerous:
            Josesito Lopez
            David Avanesyan
            Ray Robinson
            Abel Ramos

We already know the Top Guys in that 147 Division and he is not close to being ready for all of them but hey if they want to use guys like Porter name to build up Benn then go right ahead but he is not beating Shawn Porter in that ring right now in a Boxing Match

Look forward to seeing Benn continue to develop though, not saying he can't get to that World Level and become a World Class Fighter but right now he is NOT

Marketing himself very well, clearly enjoys the game 'Chisora type passion'.

I think he should be fighting a David Avanesyan or Josesito Lopez type guy, but I get going for the money & fans with Amir so fair play there. He's still young, 24yrs, so plenty of time to ease into the higher caliber guys too so if he just fights another vet like Sammy Vargas thats fine too right now.

I think Boots is a fooking problem at 147. That guy looks like he's only fighting at half his capabilities like he's on some boxing Bruce Lee sh^t. I think Spence & Bud need to be watching out for Boots. And I fully expect Errol to decide to win a belt at 154 in another year, year & a half when Boots is on his doorstep.
This is my thought. I believe Boots is the next big thing at 147 and I believe him and Vergil Ortiz Jr. stops Connor Benn now and later on

The guys right now at the top are too good to lose to Benn and the guys coming up right now are better that he is. I don't know what Benn can achieve actually. Euro champ, secondary titles. Maybe Hearn pays one of the washed up British welters to lose to him.

what you and others are overlooking is that Connor is improving fight by fight. people used to say tyson fury was awful and would never get past domestic level. Conor is a young man and the hardest worker in the gym. he blasted vargas out of there like he was a bum

Seems pretty arrogant to me. Of course all boxers should carry themselves with confidence but there's something about this guy that rings false. I still think someone like Broner would be a problem for him.
