How does he do that? No longer has the legs, his hand speed, while still fast has declinded as well.

And Hopkins has caught up with him in experience whereas in 1993 it was A Convinct VS a Olympic Medalist with 100's of amateur fights.

That's like Andre Ward (olympic gold medalist) fighting a 24-1 fighter who doesn't have any strong amateur pedigree.

I agree with rjj completely, a fight between both of these veterans would be much more satisfying to the fans than any of the other bouts mentioned. It is a fight between two of america's all time best fighter's, personally i would not care for this bout once these fighter's are fifty yrs old , therefore the time is either now or never..

There are already idiots claiming that. Those people outnumber the hardcore Roy Jones fans. This fight is way too late and it seems like Roy wants it more than Hopkins does. He needs to just let it go.
And the thing is, most of em aren't even Jones fans. Real Roy Jones fans who have watched him throughout the 90's will tell you that prime for prime, Roy would win again but in the present, Roy would lose.

These are just some teeny bopping bandwagoners and bitter Calzaghe fans.

is it just me or does it say that Jones and Hopkins fought in 2003?

Anyway I'm game for a retirement match between the two at some point or another.

It would be nice for Jones to easily steal that CW belt. Slap that to his legacy and then maybe take on Johnson and then Hop, if he wins of course.

I'm game for anyone to face Jones but Dawson. I'll still watch it though and still pick Roy to win!

Come on Hop make it happen...

This fight will suck big time if it happens. They will have to throw it on PPV when we can watch Hopkins fight Adamek and Dawson for free.

It should be written in the contract, that the LOSER MUST RETIRE after the fight

Im a fan of Both. Both excellent fighters. Bernard said Roy wanted to make this into a contest???!!! So boxing is no longer a contest? I guess for Bernard its more buisness that a boxing contest. After listening to that call in Houston, I lost a little respect for a fighter I truley enjoy watching break down his oppenents. I hope this fight happens and Roy kicks his ass. I think Bernanrd know Roys style clashes with his and will loss a decision. If Bernard is so confident of wining, 60% to winner and 40% to loser. The ball is in each of the fighters hands. Who wants it more? People may say Roy does not deserve 60% win or loss blah, blah. Roy's win, even though it was a long time ago, must stand for something. And that split of 60% to the winner is reasonable. Had Roy lost to Bhop in 93', then 60% win or lose to Roy not valid. Roy would have to take 40%. Just my opinion.

This fight does nothing for Bernard's legacy. I think beating Paul Williams means more than a win over Roy Jones.
