But he's beaten every good boxer in front of him who started younger than him. Rumours are he best floyd in sparring, so he's been hyped to the hills. No need to de hype him now a 42 year old senator going to fight him

Thats a good way of putting it, it really is a transitional period in time, nobody has stood up with ATG potential its just a bunch of guys trying to establish who is the best of the bunch, I don't think the bunch is as good as the last generation and only Floyd was better than Manny, both ATGs, your other point about Winky Wright is not far of the mark either.

Good fight and Manny is definitely in with a decent chance.

he really isn't, but that goes for a LOT of fighters today. This includes, Crawford, Canelo, Teofimo lopez, Ryan Garcia, Tyson Fury, Wilder, Joshua, and many others. Canelo is still the same fighter that floyd beat. He has better head movement, but if you don't stand in front of it, it troubles him. Spence has flaws that no one has exploited, but he seems to have trouble avoiding a straight right. This is what we are stuck with today and guys in their late teens or early 20s will tell people 30 years from now how great their era was when it gets worse. I personally feel that a guy like Oba Carr in his prime would beat Spence or Crawford but that's just my opinion and I may be wrong. I just don't get the hype with a lot of these fighters today. Crawford and Spence in an era with simon brown, starlon, or curry? cmon now....

yep we'll get a new Pernell Roy Jonez Floyd Mayweather or Mike Tyson manny pacq level fighter in the near future

manny is faded enough. Errol SHOULD beat him. Kostya Tszyu got Julio out of there for example

Crawford in his last two fights was dropped by a C list fighter and had his Eye busted within 3 rounds by Brook. He would get hit even more if he threw at the rate Spence does.

Thing is he always makes the adjustments and last 6 or more rounds of the fight he is untouchable, you can't hit him. Even if he has slow starts. This happened against Brook, round 1 and 2 didn't go too well for him. People talk about how he caught him with a good shot in round 4 but what they don't talk about was when in round 3 he switched to the southpaw stance and COMPLETELY took away Brook's jab. Bud is a boxing genius and always able to make these adjustments. Nobody had ever just completely outboxed Kelly Brook the way Bud did round 3. His entire career.

                    Agree.

This generation just aint as good as Floyd or Manny were.

It’s a big part of why Manny can still compete with top welters such as Thurman or Spence, but at same time you have to factor in his age it just balances out. Also, current top fighters aren’t as tough as previous generation, lot more cherry picking and ducking within this generation.

Pac still a live dog in this match up, and most will be surprised just as everybody was with the Thurman fight.

I think Manny is going to look every day of his 43 years of age. A two year hiatus likely aged him beyond return. Last shirtless pic I saw of him a couple months back he looked really soft. Like a true warrior, he is going out on his shield though.
