Peter is ideal for undercard fights. He provides a knockout before the main event.

Just don't put him in the main event on a good card, keep him right before it against a so-so fighter and he can definitely provide highlight reels.
If only they could just keep trotting him out against Jeremy Williams.
Then he would be killer of all killers.

He's a good addition to any undercard. Preferably against someone with not too many skills.

He made his name off of Jeremy Williams and ESPN.

He can knockout most of the ESPN scrubs. He's just not a world beater.

It's funny, every once in a while he looks good, like he could do it, then he fails.

I think they could have found at least someone on the Jeremy Williams level, but Bellamy is 44 and has lost his past 8 fights.

Although I think keeping a fighter active is a good thing (this will be Sam's second fight in two months), I don't think that matching him up against a total tomato can is beneficial to the fighter's development or even appealing to hard core fans. I think a fight against one of the usual journeymen like Zunbrum, Batchelder, Hawkins, etc., etc would be better...

Sam Peter vs Ronald Bellamy on Latin Fury Card

Former heavyweight champion Sam Peter (31-3, 24KOs) returns to the ring on the September 12 Latin Fury card at El Palenque de la Feria in Nayarit, Mexico. Peter faces Ronald Bellamy (14-9, 9KOs). The fight is Peter's second under his new promotional deal with Top Rank. In his last fight with Marcus McGee on the July 25 Latin Fury card, also in Mexico, Peter came in at 243-pounds, his best weight since losing to Wladimir Klitscghko in 2005.

I guess this is part of Peter rehabilitation prgoram but it's really a weaker opponent than last time with McGee.

Bellamy is 44 and has lost his last 8.Weird career, started with 4 consecutive draws and then he beat undefeated Paul Marinaccio(a W he probably is proud today).

Either way unless Peter comes in at 240 max this is useless.
