I totally understand that this article clearly includes de la Hoya, but it’s pretty annoying and it’s alarming at how many MMA Articles this site has nowadays, starting to look like Dana is paying these guys to give his brand a lift, we don’t need a retired WRESTLERS opinion do we? Did many people want this fight? Do many people want this MMA article run to keep going on this site?

And he’s right, top MMA stars have as much chance at being successful against the top boxing champions as the top boxing champions do with MMA champions. They will continue to get destroyed and that’s not the image Dana white wants for the ufc and its legions of geeked out suburbanite incel fans. Therefore all avenues should be through showtime who could match boxers with MMA fighters via Bellator. Same should and could be done through PFL. Clay Collard just dominated Pettis in an MMA match on that promotion proving how dominant boxing is and could be in MMA

This is why he won't fight Jake Paul in a boxing match either!

Clay Collard is an MMA fighter who then did both MMA and boxing for a while after going 1-3 in the UFC and being cut. I dont think that win says much.

Of course boxing works in MMA though, but you need the other MMA skills as a support system in order to be able to utilize it. Some boxers could potentially develop that to a decent enough level over time but its easier said than done.

I don't follow MMA either, just read that the other day when looking at this issue.

I wonder if Dana and Daniel would like to pay him possibly the biggest pay day of his life he is going to miss out on they didn’t moan when James Toney crossed over and lasted less than a round it seems a shame a great fighter is being stopped from earning a massive payday

These fights are lame anyway tbh. It should be some kind of hybrid rules, or like 3 rounds of boxing/1 round of MMA.
No he’s right. Geeky little MMA nerds don’t seem to mind James Tony getting handled in the ufc

It's actually stated the other way in the article. They don't want their top MMA guy to get stopped by a retired boxer/fetishist/drug enthusiast in his late 40s. They think it will make them look bad, or more accurately, think it would be damaging to the sport.
