takkie and phillips were past their best. witter fought judah at short notice and has beaten all the top european fighters and is now stepping to top world fighters. first man to put ndou down. cotto couldnt even do that. i believe that witter deserves a world title shot ahead of hatton. i hope hatton beats tszyu and i will be there cheering him on. however, if he gets hammered its because he's prepared by fighting weak, washed up hasbeens and this could be rickys downfall. lets hope not but i'll have no sympathy for him.

hang on takcie3 and phillips were washed up??? they fought for the title the fight before they took on hatton and lost exactly the same as Ndou.
They are all gatekeepers to the top ten, as for beating Europes best, not really Eamon Magee would havew beaten any of the guys Witter defended against. (Jurgen Haek whom junior laboured against, Battaglia etc etc, come on these guys arent even top 30.)
Also if it wasnt for the KD's junior would have lost against Ndou, its a significant win but if he goes to sleep in the middle rounds like he did against Ndou agianst th top boys he will get crunched. (i know he injured his hand but injuries happen you have to cope).
However it seems you side a little with witter me with hatton thats cool (i can admit this) but its fantastic to see both fighters oin the verge of something special I really hope they can capitalise its a shot in the arm British boxing needs at present cos outside these two i can only seem David Barnes and Maybe Froch and Haye making a dent in world boxing at present.
You can write off amir khan as well unless he gets an attiude transplant and quick. He seems to think he has done it all already and boxing tends to bring you back down to earth, personally I think Kevin mitchell would take him apart.

I tend to agree with JPW. Tackie had just gone 12 with tsyzu before fighting Hatton. Going 12 rounds with a fighter like Tsyzu is not a shot fighter, and hatton beat him comfortably. Also, Philips whislt not in his prime was not shot when he fought Hatton, he had taken Sharmba Mitchell to a majority dec the fight before Hatton ( and don`t dis Mitchell, he was the second best jnr welterweight in the world until Tsyzu KO`d him ).
Both Hatton and Witter deserve a title match and i think that all this running down of these fighters is perhaps fear that they may have a chance to break into the top ten Jnr welter scene!

i like hatton but i feel that witter would beat him, but it would be close and i would love to see it. the main problem i have with hatton is the fact that he claims to be a world champion, just because he holds the WBU belt. i hate the fact that there are so many worthless titles about and because hatton is a big draw and has a large fan base, suddenly everyone starts believing the hype. there are loads of fighters with IBO, IBA, WBF etc world titles but nobody actually calls them world champs or believes they are. Jonny Nelson once held the WBF world heavyweight title but nobody would ever seriously say hes a former heavyweight world cahmp !! if hatton beats tszyu i will be happy for him and it will be great for british boxing

he still needs to fight zoo for the big pay day. thats my point. hatton wants the big super fight with the big pay day, but he doesnt or warren wont let him take any risky fights. however, due t zoos age and injury problems i think hatton has a good chance of winning

^exactly, Frank warren's been protecting hatton for years biding his time for this world title shot, why waste ur time on witter (who, incidentally i think would get killed by hatton).
And good on whoever mentioned carl froch, that boy is our (britains) only genuine champ material in my eyes

Carl Froch will be world champion he is world class and with DLH in his corner there should be no problem getting the big fights.

David Barnes is also a great prospect let's hope warren doesn't protect him to long.

What do you think of Michael Jennings? Isn't it time he made a step up?
