    Junior Witters next opponent

now that witter has teamed up with golden boy promotions does anyone think that his next fight will be for a genuine world title ? not a title that hatton likes to call a world title. hattons title is worth less than the british title in my eyes. i would love to see hatton v witter but i dont think hatton will ever fight witter. too risky for him.

Back in England Hatton and Witter have been exchanging verbals for a few years now. Frank Warren, who at a time promoted both had always insisted that the fight would be put off until it was made big by one of them winning a title or gaining recognition.
The su****ion always was though that Hatton wanted no part of Witter due to his style and Hatton`s tendency to cut up in the face. Witter might have beaten him!

i agree. i dont think hatton wants anything to do with witter. i hope hatton does win his shot against tszyu but i cant help feeling that he has been protected through his carear and has been very lucky to have had loads of hype from sky sports and frank warren. he has had it far too easy with choice of opposition and never having to fight outside england

hattons gonna fight tsyzu yet hes scared of witters style and power.

        riiiiight of course he is.

blame the f**king promoters not the fighters.

if anything the witter camp is just as worried by hatton.

im sick of witter..good luck to him but god hes full of ****.

when he wins a world title he can talk about having one

if witters next fight is a world title shot and he loses,
with hatton also losing to tsyzu id expect talks to at
        least begin..

another quesion..is hattons belt on the line against tsyzu?

HMM MOORE TO IT THAN THAT, WITTER WALKED OUT ON WARREN IN A PRETTY ACRIMONOUS SPLIT.

You dont do that to frank if your in british boxing and expect to get a shot at his biggest star.
Its not just about whether hatton wantefd the fight or not. Do you honestly think Witter bothers him if he going in to fight Zoo? Yeah I agree maybe too much riskj for too little reward but i dont think hatitn is bothered by witter one bit.

Back to the thread, Witter may get a shot at Gatti if Mayweather negotiations break down, if not he is number one contender once mayweather has fought gatti.

if the hand problem is a s bad as was reported he will need a couple of months to recover anyway.

who cares if hattons belt is on the line, its ****in worthless. i could buy a better belt on ebay. hatton has avoided witter so as not to jeopadise a 'genuine' world title shot with a big pay day. however, he want the title shot without fighting any good top 10 fighters and without fighting away from home. i just dont think its that fair, especially when you have the media whipping up loads of publicity and hyping him up to be a lot better than he may be.

thats not fair comment, Takcie and Phillips were top ten when he fought them. Pinto didnt get on the plane cos he weanted more money and Harris ducked hatton.
Why fight anywhere else when you are selling 20 thousand tickets mate, its not just a sport you have to make money too. Just cos junior couldnt draw flies to a turd that aint hatotns fault, he has the type of style that appeals to the casual fan as well, like gatti has.
who the **** else do you expect him to fight?
Cotto? Witter...why until last weekend he had been knockiong out top 50 opponents in defending his own european title.
guess we will find out how good ricky is or isnt on june 4th.
              ill be there

Getting back to Junior Witter's next opponent, i don't think he should come back to Europe for his next fight, he should have another big fight in America it would be a big step forward for him and he should get some more good publicity.
Out of the top 10 fighters Zoo is fighting Hatton, Mayweather Vs Gatti, Cotto might be fighting Harris if the rumours are correct. Mitchell is fighting in April but hasn't got an opponent but this is to soon for Junior. Acelino Freitas has just moved up to this weight division, this would be a good fight for junior, and it would be another step forward for him.

i agree, stay in the states. this is great for witter and also carl froch who de la hoya also signed. could be that in six months witter will be in a better position than hatton. hatton might need to fight him when tzsyu hands him his ass.

sorry tp break away from the topic

                    froch signed to goldenboy !!!

that is topness.ive been following froch awhile
and this could be the perfect next step in his career.

hes 27 and as yet reasonably untested, but looking good nonetheless.

i expected to see a robin reid-carl froch fight but now maybe not
