I'd have liked to have seen last weekend's four belt unification but how many people are going to stay up until 5am to do so? It's even harder to convince people to do it if it's on PPV

As for not getting the fights we want.... welcome to boxing. It's been that way quite some time now. If people keep buying second rate fights, that's what the broadcasters and promoters will keep putting on. It's not boxing that needs to take itself seriously, it's the fans. Stop paying for crap matchup and demand better.

Well ish. The UFC title holds a lot more weight than any of the champions from the smaller promotions because it's talent pool is much greater. There's been fantastic fighters outside the UFC but until they reach the UFC you're always questioning their level of competition and if they have the ability to compete at the top end of the UFC.

I think your comparison is more like comparing one of the four majors with the IBO title

all the best fighters are in the ufc and everyone knows it. michael chandler for years was trying to get to ufc. no one is calling for a fight between a ufc champ and anyone from one of those other promos. maybe they did years ago, when fedor was in a different one, but not anymore. Don't rationalize this sport. It's broken.

Kamaru Usman would be an avoided fighter that would never get a chance if he were in boxing.

            The biggest problem? The fans.

No other sport in the world would you brag that someone is ducking you because in other sports you aren't allowed to duck like in boxing.

No other sport in the world can you pretend to vicariously live your own life through an individual and pretend that all of their achievements are their own.

Like for real. Look at how many "fans" of the sport ripped on Taylor for beating Ramirez in a clean but somewhat close fight. Yall want to act like experts but end up looking like Skip Bayless. Nothing but a ****ing clown and yet the same people lack the capacity to realize that their own ******ity is a turn off for a lot of people especially when it comes to the casual crowd.

Do people really think if other people saw their ****** ass antics that they would be so willing to participate?

Its also curiously the ONLY sport in the world where people are too afraid to take a loss and people celebrate that fact.

Take the curious case of Tank Davis and all of his "supporters ". 130-140 totally runs through him because he's too afraid to fight legitimate competition.

The best in the world but only fights for secondary titles? The best in the world but won't fight anyone legitimate in your own weight class. .

Then you literally got losers who support the promoters over the boxers. Someone should hand these fangirls cheer leading outfits because they're nothing more than that..

            One champion per weight class.

            The fix is EASY.

The fight happened over a year ago. I don’t think it’s right to hold someone to a contract like that for so long. Covid or not, it should’ve just been called bad luck. But it is what it is now.

Adam Smith is a noncy, sissy, uphill gardener and should not be involved with boxing, never mind in charge of Sky's budget. He probably fancies Logan Paul so he spent Sky subscribers money on that pile of ****e "fight".

It's such an unattractive fight now too. Personally I couldn't be any less interested in it. Fully expect Fury to win a one sided beatdown again.

I think if a deal could've been made to have Wilder fight the winner, take some step aside money (not $20m lol) and take a tune up in the interim it would've been a win all round

Fury shouldn't have agreed to the rematch clause if he didn't want to go through with it.

What he needed to do is have the third fight already. It could have been out of the way by now and the winner would be free to chase Joshua.

                      ———-
I used your own words and logic.
Speaking of what the records say, what does the record say about Floyd-Castillo, Pscar-Sturm, Tito-Oscar, PAC-Marquez, etc?
People ruminate on controversial decisions all the time.
I know you have selective amnesia but it can take me 10 minutes to dig up posts where you’ve done exactly that.
Back to my question, once Fury destroys Wilder and then beats AK (hopefully by KO), will you still call him a bum? This is a simple YES or NO question.
