I had Taylor winning.
But just wanted to know out of curiosity how everyone had these rounds:
2
3
4
8
9
11
12
Were these close rounds that could have gone either way? Did Ramirez win them all? Did Taylor win them all? I felt these rounds were close.
Just want to say also, i'm not dis*****g anything. Ramirez was not going to win this fight no matter what. If you give all of these rounds to Ramirez, it's a draw. If you give Ramirez 7 of those 8 rounds, he loses 114-113. If you give him 6 of those, he loses 114-112.
1, 6, 7, 10 were clear Taylor rounds that can't be disputed, with an added 2 points due to the KD's. 5 was a Taylor round that could be disputed although Taylor outworked Ramirez.
I felt 8 and 9 Taylor took them off for some odd reason. The announcers covered Taylor there by saying he "may be biding his time" to come back strong in the championship rounds. But instead Ramirez did all the work in round 11 and 12 while Taylor was holding and appeared to be out of energy or something. I think he caught with something in the 11th round and never fully recovered. But he already had the fight in the bag with the two KD's. So it didn't matter. Unless Ramirez scored two KD's of his own in rounds 11 and 12.
But it's interesting to see so many fans say the scores should be wider. I thought it was a close fight that Taylor won fairly with two KD's. I didn't think there should be any controversy. Before it was announced, I told my friends that they won 6 rounds each, and that the judges will have it 6 rounds each. One of my friends mentioned the unofficial scorecard and said the judges will have it pretty much the same. I said no they are not. Judges don't have replays like announcers do. They have to score on what they see in real time. And seeing it in real time is a lot harder to score in a fight were both fighters are landing clean power punches and jabs, a similar amount of punches landed.
