[Taylor vs Ramirez] What did you guys think about the following rounds?

    I had Taylor winning.

But just wanted to know out of curiosity how everyone had these rounds:

    2
    3
    4
    8
    9
    11
    12

Were these close rounds that could have gone either way? Did Ramirez win them all? Did Taylor win them all? I felt these rounds were close.

Just want to say also, i'm not dis*****g anything. Ramirez was not going to win this fight no matter what. If you give all of these rounds to Ramirez, it's a draw. If you give Ramirez 7 of those 8 rounds, he loses 114-113. If you give him 6 of those, he loses 114-112.

1, 6, 7, 10 were clear Taylor rounds that can't be disputed, with an added 2 points due to the KD's. 5 was a Taylor round that could be disputed although Taylor outworked Ramirez.

I felt 8 and 9 Taylor took them off for some odd reason. The announcers covered Taylor there by saying he "may be biding his time" to come back strong in the championship rounds. But instead Ramirez did all the work in round 11 and 12 while Taylor was holding and appeared to be out of energy or something. I think he caught with something in the 11th round and never fully recovered. But he already had the fight in the bag with the two KD's. So it didn't matter. Unless Ramirez scored two KD's of his own in rounds 11 and 12.

But it's interesting to see so many fans say the scores should be wider. I thought it was a close fight that Taylor won fairly with two KD's. I didn't think there should be any controversy. Before it was announced, I told my friends that they won 6 rounds each, and that the judges will have it 6 rounds each. One of my friends mentioned the unofficial scorecard and said the judges will have it pretty much the same. I said no they are not. Judges don't have replays like announcers do. They have to score on what they see in real time. And seeing it in real time is a lot harder to score in a fight were both fighters are landing clean power punches and jabs, a similar amount of punches landed.

Two judges had Ramirez winning before the KDs. Does that seem okay with that you watched in first 5 rounds? I didn't watch the fight, just asking.

Ramirez won more rds but that last KD might have cost him the fight but Taylor did nothing the last 4-5 rds he just held on looking at the clock for the fight to end.

Taylor shoulda won 8-4 with two 10-8 rounds, they gave Ramirez every possible benefit of every doubt and he still lost.

Anybody claiming Ramirez won or even drew is showing genuine single digit IQ levels of ******ity.

Idr exactly how I scored most of those rounds, but as a basic breakdown iirc the 3rd was probably JCR's strongest round of the fight. I think the last 3 or 4 rounds Josh more or less conceded which is primarily what made the fight closer than it felt.

Beyond the 6th & 7th rounds (& probably the 8th too) with the KD's where easy Josh rounds. And then the rest 1, 2, 4 & 5 seemed close or close-ish. Again don't quote me too hard here as I didn't look at my own scorecard from last night or even the judges cards, but I think that's a solid summing up of what went down.

Ramirez won 1-4 and 8-12 easily.

Interesting. I don't disagree with you, but just want to know, both fighters landed the same amount of punches in rounds 2 and 4. Which sequence or punch in particular lead you to give rounds 2 and 4 to Taylor? (Ramirez outlanded Taylor in power punches in both of those rounds).

I did notice that. I thought Ramirez won rounds 8, 9, but it was because Taylor gave those to him. Ramirez looked like the better fighter of the two there because Taylor allowed him. Rounds 11 and 12 Ramirez won on his own, he simply just outfought Taylor in the championship rounds. Round 3 was an easy Ramirez round. Rounds 2 and 4 I thought were close and I feel like they could have gone to whoever your a fan of. Which is how I think most fans are scoring it.

Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to say this fight was wide for Taylor. Like you have to be biased to say that.

I am glad Taylor won as I don't like how some people crap on him. He stuck it to them. But I like both fighters and had it 6-6, and could definitely see how the judges can give Ramirez 7-8 rounds. But they didn't. They had it perfectly. 6-6 is the perfect scoring for this fight imo. And all judges had it that way. If the fight was in the UK, it's very possible that those fans complaining that it should be wider would have had it their way.

You can't just gift your opponent the last 4 out of 5 rounds, when your opponent could have easily already been given 4 rounds even before that.

I think UK fans should actually commend the 3 judges for not giving Ramirez 7-8 rounds, like they could have. With backlash? Yes. But ultimately, Ramirez could have reasonably been given 7-8 rounds, and really any professional judge would have no reason to be investigated for that. So 6 apiece is actually more than fair.

Can't literally give 4 rounds away to someone who you already battled tooth and nail against in the first 5 rounds. Just because you got two knockdowns. There's 12 rounds. Judges aren't going to automatically give you the fight after 2 KD's.

I gave Ramirez 3, 5, 9, 11, 12. Taylor coasted the last two rounds, he let Ramirez claw his way back to a respectable card. Very good fight though.
