Comments Thread For: Plant Warns Canelo: I Possess A lot of The Same Athleticism, Boxing IQ as Mayweather, Lara

IBF super middleweight titleholder Caleb Plant (21-0, 12 KOs) has been waiting for his big career moment for a long time. He may get the chance this September, if a deal is finalized for a full division unification against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs), who last month unified the WBC, WBO, WBA titles with an eight round stoppage of Billy Joe Saunders.

Keep dreaming Plant. The opportunity to sell your '0' to Canelo is coming later in the year, don't worry.

And this is why he's going to lose.

He will believe his own nonsense and get the rude awakening.

He's maybe closer to Lara in terms of slickness, not Mayweather. There's only one Mayweather and one Pernell Whitaker in terms of super slickness and difficulty to hit type boxers.

Ray Leonard could be as slick but he also liked to brawl a bit more with the added power he had compared to Floyd and Pernell.

I agree but I'd put Hamed up there as well.

I’d say Plant is good enough to be a Lara sparring partner. And with this title run he has proving he could totally name drop Mayweather too. I wonder if this will be enough to be Canelo.

Wish plant would just had over his belt so we can see canelo fight someone challenging like benavidez or bivol, honestly these other chumps just don't have a clue or a chance, bjs was the most likely and got his face shattered. 168 is weak as piss.

Hopefully, Canelo has signed a rematch clause. Well, he wouldn't need one if the fight is on the PBC.

Who do you have beating Canelo if it’s weak? How come no unifications from its division in years? Canelo makes it look easily cleaning house fans say “it’s weak.”
