Cotto,"Manny Pacquiao Is Not A Better Boxer Than Miguel Cotto"

Salinas - The corner of fighter Miguel Cotto has two things in mind at this stage of training: preparing for a fast pace with boxer Manny Pacquiao and to fight in a ring of large dimensions.

This was recognized by Joe Santiago, Cotto's trainer during a workout of his warrior in the Juan Evangelista Venegas gym, at the Albergue Olímpico of Salinas. In fact, the size of the facility and the rings were took a role in moving the traning Camp from Aguas Buenas toward Salinas.

"The primary reason (for moving) is that we have a ring 24 x 24 and one 20 x 20. We're going to adapt these measures for the fight that is going to be in a large ring like that, "he said.

Santiago said that such measures "should be a advantage to Manny. HE is a lighter fighter, which has to cover (move defensively) a little and move plenty. "

However, Cotto disagreed with the assessment of their coach. "Pacquiao is not a better boxer than Miguel Cotto. So if someone can take advantage of the ring is Miguel Cotto, "the world champion.

With a week to start his training from the hand of trainer Phil Landman, Cotto accepted he feels "a little bit exhausted, resentful muscles. But it is normal in these first weeks. "

"We worked hard as we always do. Phil always comes to get to work, "he added. As part of that preparation, Cotto has begun to spar Just to start getting the engine going, yesterday afternoon his "opponent" was the boxer Frankie Santos (18-6-3, 9 KOs).

For its part, Landman said that at present work has focused on the physical part of Cotto before leaving for Tampa where he will be the last part of their training.

"He has continued working in the gym a bit to keep the condition he had for his last fight," he said. He stressed that Cotto continued preliminary work plan he had outlined.

The trainer said that chemistry working with Joe is very good. "Without judging what happened, there's good chemistry." In this coincided Santiago, who recalled that this is not the first time working with Landman. "In these first weeks we discussed how it will work. We combine the physical preparation and the technical part, "abounded.

I have to agree. Cotto is clearly the better boxer than Pacman. Its not even up for debate. We should be debating who has better boxer skills : Gatti or Pac IMO
