what floyd would never do is lose to a Horn level opponent. If the Thurman win elevated manny so much the Horn loss had to lower him significantly. Or does that not factor in?

Thurman doesn't have to be the greatest fighter. Context is everything. Pac was 41 and giving away all the advantages. Age, size, home advantage, more wear and tear, history was against pac also as no ww in history had did just what pac did at 41, so pac was up against it. Odds were stacked against pac wasn't looking good.
Nel o only had size going for him and floyd tried taking only thing Nell had going for him away.

It will always be something. When he beat Thurman they said Thurman was coming off an injury and long layoff, even though he beat Lopez several months prior. They immediately tried to discredit Pac's win.

If Manny should pull off a miracle and beat Spence, the excuses will be plenty, mostly the ones you cited. Spence was still damaged from car crash, pre-car crash he beats Manny. Manny was on steroids, or some A-side meth that Uncle Crackhead accused him of years ago. What's funny is that not too long ago, they were all mocking Manny for "ducking" Crawford, who they all call a bum. Now, they say Manny is broke and desperate for a payday which is why he chose Spence, as if he couldn't make more money fighting an easier opponent. They also say he is only fighting Spence because he never got over his loss to Floyd.

See this is the problem. It's not for certain Floyd would beat these guys he avoided just because you think he's better. You don't want to admit that ducking Thurman bit Floyd in the @ss legacy wise because Manny beat him when he was without question the man to beat at 147.
