i think the 13 years before 2001 when they were young and in their prime trumps the last 8 years after they were both old and past it.

yes they did and RJJ beat him...........but he didnt dominate him..........

how so?........thats clearly being biased for RJJ............BHOP was peaking..............needed an impressive performance against a trinidad that was blowing away through weight classes to be finally be notice................was Mccallum a great win for roy????

diss nard?....lol....dude's whole career is a joke....starts out as a lightheavy, moves down to middleweight to dominate the weakest division in boxing history, then makes a name for himself by picking on welterweights....don't have to elevate jones because he's toast anyways...

his reign wasnt the greatest................it was what it was..........but he didnt just end his career fighting former welterweights did he?..........

What Hopkins has accomplished since 2001 does not compare to what Roy accomplished from 1989-2004. You can bring up the common opponents, but you cannot just dismiss that Roy was not his best anymore.

they forget a career is judged throughout.

roy jones is no different from any other fighter who in their 30's just don't have it anymore and lose to lesser competition.

hopkins stans think just because hopkins was able to be still good in his late 30's and 40's that somehow that makes him better than roy.

it doesn't work that way.



if you look at archie moore he was able to be competitive way into his 40's.

ezzard charles on the other hand was done as an elite by his 30's.

that said......it doesn't change the fact that ezzard charles was better than archie moore.

no i'm glad you pointed that out because he finally moved back into his original division, beat 1 legit champ in tarver like 4 years ago, then went right back to making catchweight fights with middleweights and jr. middles...

never dominated but so far definitely has lost by unanimous decision a couple of times on the scorecards...never will get his ass thoroughly kicked until he fights some guys his size or bigger with some talent...hopefully we are closer to that day....
