I don't think Hopkins has passed Roy. He has stayed at a world class level higher but he has still only been champ in 2 divisions, he hasn't fought more ATGs or anything, and how soon people forget Roy won titles at 4 weights, including heavyweight. While Hopkins was cleaning out middleweight Roy was cleaning out light heavyweight, so that's a wash.

Seriously, the only thing Hopkins has on Roy is chin and aging well. Roy was better at everything else and accomplished more than Hopkins without question.

street cred and rapping is clearly a joke buddy..............Roy dominating a green BHOP didnt happen but RJJ did win..............defense of middleweight aint irrelevant...............ROY did fight his share of bums too.............

you prefer flashy athletic fighters.........i can respect that.........but ROY accomplishing more than BHOP isnt without question............why take away BHOPS chin and consistency???.......thats like taking away RJJs speed and athleticism....

Not taking away his chin and consistency, just saying that's the only thing Hopkins has on Roy Jones. Bottom line is prime Roy would beat any version of Hopkins you can throw at him. Roy did fight bums, it happens when you stay at one division for a long time, there are only so many great fighters you can fight in a division before there are none left, a problem both Roy and Bernard faced. Roy spent most his career knocking out and dominating bigger fighters, whereas Bernard has spent his entire career winning ugly for the most part against smaller guys. Roy was green too when he fought Hopkins, so you can't use that as a reason Roy won that fight. Roy Jones won belts in 4 divisions, cleaned out light heavyweight, was the first middleweight to win a heavyweight belt in 100 years, nothing Bernard has done compares to that by itself.

            how?

roy jones beat bhop at 160 and james toney at 168.

that by itself is better than hopkins entire career.

              lmao

he went up to the weight he started fighting at.

              hopkins turned pro at 175.

he beat antonio tarver a natural 175 guy. that was a good win.

lost to joe calzaghe. NOT a 175 guy.

beat winky right at a catchweight in the light heavyweight division.

beat kelly pavlik also at a catchweight at light heavyweight.

in his last 4 fights in the light heavyweight division , he beat ONE light heavyweight.

he fought a super middleweight fighting for the first time at light heavy , a middleweight and a super welterweight.

viva bernard hopkins! he is legend!

Bernard even said so himself, he wasn't green in that fight. I don't get why you people use that excuse. He said there were no excuses for that fight and Roy won the fight.

He also has power over Hopkins. All those fighters you mentioned Roy fought past his prime, and Tarver came down from 200 pounds to fight Hopkins just like Roy came down from 200 to fight Tarver. In his prime Roy wiped the floor with fighters like Tarver and Glen Johnson. Calzaghe would have probably given him a fight in his prime but would have lost.
