If 30 year old Floyd struggled with DLH, would a 30 year old Canelo knock out that 154-Floyd?

    Of course! Easy work.

Styles make fights besides Oscar was a better boxer than Canelo certainly from a fundamental standpoint.

I think Oscar is sadly more remembered for antics outside the ring and the end of his career and people forget what an amazing fighter he was.

I like em both but Oscar was giving Sweetpea, Chavez, Floyd, Camacho, Gonzalez, Trinidad, Hernandez & the likes work.
Nobody will be talking about the guys Canelo is beating in 10yrs time, in fact they'll be forgotten in a couple.

No version of Canelo under 160 beats Floyd. Dream on douche bag.

In what way is Oscar more fundamental than Canelo? Canelo has all the fundamentals except he’s more flexible and athletic. Oscar was a stiff board.

No because styles make fights and Oscar having a much better left hand (jab, left hook) than Canelo makes the difference.

Flexible from the waist up sure but more athletic? He's stuck in mud.
Oscar had faster feet & much better footwork defensively and especially offensively. He cut the ring off much more effectively and efficiently.
His jab was lightyears ahead of Canelo's and threw the crisper, straight shots.

A prime Oscar wasn't stiff as a board in the slightest he just knew how to fight tall, behind his jab, something todays fighters know nothing about.

Canelo gets very sloppy and telegraphs a lot of shots but he is getting away with it vs limited opposition that fight scared. Even Kovalev fought terrified.

Look at Canelo vs Trout, Lara, BJS compared to oscar against much faster & real skilled southpaws slicksters and by skilled I don't mean just putting a left hand by a double feint in Camacho and Sweetpea

I like Canelo but he sure gets flattered by this row of opposition he is fighting. Ordinary champions by even todays standard. He's not fighting anyone close to great

Oscars ability to cut the ring off, his jab and educated left hand, his ability to double & triple up his punches would always give Floyd issues as his defense and reflexes are more programmed to a basic fighter which Canelo is.
Canelo has very flat feet and uses his upper body movement to create leverage and a pendulum affect.

Against Canelo it'll be like a cat toying with a mouse every time. Floyd taking center ring and making Canelo standing starstruck as he's forced to lead and struggles with the angles and speed of the counters coming back.

DLH is tall and fights tall. Canelo is short armed. And Floyd wasn’t even a full fledged WW moving up to JMW. By the time he fought Canelo he was a full fledged WW.

When we talk athleticism we talk kinesthetic intelligence, anyone can bounce on their feet, it’s very difficult to teach guys proper punch mechanics or flexibility and balance like Canelo’s. Oscar was fast, could really throw his hands in bunches etc, a very hard trained guy, not what we consider ‘athletic’, unless you are using it in the broadest of senses (guy who trains/ is in sports).

Still not getting why Oscar had better fundamentals. Oscar may very well have beaten Canelo (busier, smart and good mover) but he does not have better technique than Canelo, Canelo throw’s his right hands straighter, he throws his jab straighter, he keeps his hands up too and is actually more defensively responsible, and due to his flexibility can simply roll and come back (e.g vs Saunders) better than Oscar. Why is Oscar certainly more fundamental than Canelo? What’s canelo missing? His feet are stuck in the mud? Except they aren’t, he just doesn’t waste energy, he very swiftly of foot closed the distance on Saunder’s and he’s boxed on the backfoot plenty, he’s not as fundamental as Oscar because he doesn’t run around/bounce?

Not getting it. And the telegraph which I’m sure you mean the ****ed right hand and jab jab jabs, isn’t really what it seems neither, because he’s messing with your timing. Canelo is very intelligent with landing legitimate powershots (that left hook he got Golovkin ducking into early in fight 2 for example.)
