no he wasn't great, although i will admit that he did have some exciting fights, but he was far form great, because his only fight in which he fought a real live opponent he lost in embarrassing fashion and he was never the same after that.
fighters who are great do great things after suffering a defeat, and get better after defeat, hamed just fizzled out, fell out of sight never to be found after his calvo fight, or should i say found 100lbs heavier no where near a boxing gym........................ hamed was just a marketing job and nothing more.......,
The PRINCE was legend. He had it all: speed, power, reflexes, charisma and a rock solid chin. The only thing people doubted was his heart. But I believe he had a tremendeous heart as well. Its just because his right hand gave up on him that he couldn't fullfill his legacy.
naseem would NEVER beat morales but he has a puncher's chance against pacquiao and marquez.
i can see hamed KTFO pacquiao and marquez.
I've went back and forth a bit on pac v eric, but going by the pocket rocket fight with both fighters i'd back eric. no-one could KO wayne. When Naz realised he couldn't he was happy (for the only time i can remember) to go for the points win. Eric never stopped trying to finish him.
Naz had insane power, and eric had an insane chin. either eric eventually gets KOd or (more likely) naz gives up trying (or breaks his hands) and tries to get the decision. Eric would come after Naz for the whole 12 rounds relentlessly no matter what, and while i dont think (pretty sure) he couldn't KO Naz, he could drop him more than once due to Naz's balance.
UD for Eric.
JMM could do a Barrera on Naz, but if Naz caught him, he aint getting up. I'd favour Naz if they fought once but JMM on a best of 5 fights. If JMM starts slow agaisnt Naz he's finished. Once he figures Naz out, he isnt gonna lose unless he gets caught with a lucky punch.
Naz KOs 126 Pac 3 or 4 times out of 5 imo. Pac was a one handed fighter back then, and either of Naz's hands were better than Pacs one. Pac didnt fight as smart back then (which comes from experiance and good training). Put the Pac we have now back at feather at he beats Naz 4 or 5 times out of 5.
