So let me get this straight.

Crawford can tell Ortiz to fight Crawford's leftovers to "prove" Ortiz is ready.

But Spence can't tell Crawford to fight Spence's leftovers (Porter) to "prove" Crawford is ready.

      Ok

This is a good match up. We need at least two more Ortiz fights this year.

ppl talking about mandatory position - Ortiz jr is the WBA gold champ since august 2019, why didnt he get a shot at WBA super or regular title?

Same man. Great matchmaking, we’ll get to see how Vergil deals with a guy who comes after him from round 1. Gonna be fun whilst it lasts.

Mismatch? I expect Ortiz to win but I think it’ll be competitive while it lasts.

What's really going to bake your noodle is this.

WBA Gold is supposed to be a guaranteed shot at the current Super Champion.

WBA regs say that the Super Champion is a person who has defended the Regular Championship 5 times minimum. Keef did. Manny did not. They basically gave it to Manny because it's Manny.

WBA regs also say that if they do that - just "give" Super to someone - they won't fill Regular. Which is why Ugas could only be interim off the eliminator with Ramos and only elevated after Manny got stripped. Yet they made Ugas Super! Jamal James is current Regular WBA Welterweight Champion, because he beat Dulorme off another eliminator and they immediately elevated him before they made Ugas Super.

Meanwhile, if you look at all of the WBA Gold holders besides Ortiz...it's a Who's Who of Who The F Are You.

WBA clearly uses Super to help sell big fights, period. As far as Ortiz, the Gold entitles him to a shot but he just won WBO International, which normally means he's gunning for Crawford.

If you criticize Crawford for ducking Ortiz after Ortiz refuses to enforce his number one ranking, I’ll gladly point out the form Ortiz didn’t fill out to enforce his position.

Just like I did when you pretended Shawn Porter was a victim when he was ducking.
