A prime RJJ at 168 is the best ever at that weight. Prime vs Prime, RJJ wins. Now career vs Career, I think Canelo has had a better career than RJJ and it's only going to get better.

Sugar Ray Robinson vs RJJ at 168 is a fun discussion too.

It's all personal preference of how you rank guys all time. Canelo has had a better career than RJJ to me, so he gets a higher spot on my all time rankings. Another fan might rank them based heavier on prime vs prime, they might have RJJ higher on their all time list. If Canelo continues his domination for 5 more years, he's going to be in the discussion for the best ever with names like Ali, Floyd Jr, and SRR.

Does he just use his superior reach and speed to outpoint Canelo like he did with Hopkins and Toney? Does Roy get aggressive with Canelo and just completely murk him? It seems like it would take a LOT of hard, crisp perfectly landed power punches to knockout Canelo. He has such a good chin. Even GGG couldn't crack it. But Roy is a different animal and one of the few fighters in history to possess the ability to light up an opponent with POWER punches. Canelo is a good counter puncher however... If he could maintain his composure during one of Roy's trademark flurries, he could possibly land something big in return. But Roy had superhuman reflexes in his prime and there's a good chance he would see any big punches coming before it's too late.

      Some points to consider:

Canelo at 168lb is more aggressive than he was at 160. He would try to impose his will and use what he sees as his advantage (his power).

Roy at 168lb is STILL a naturally bigger guy than Canelo with enough power to carry him up through light heavyweight to sweep that division as well.

I understand Roy would be the huge betting favorite, but the chin and aggressive of Canelo makes this an interesting fantasy match.
Bryant Brannon 2.0 or a Pazienza type of affair, under 6 Canelo is starched or waved off.

Prime RJJ is too fast for Canelo

and for anyone else, for that matter

Only way Canelo wins is if he lands a lucky punch. Which I don't see happening due to his style which I think Roy would take advantage of easily.

It would be a lop sided victory. More wide than GGG won. James Toney absolutely schools Canelo as well as Hopkins.

He'd completely school him as would James Toney. Hopkins would batter him.

Not sure why anyone would care about Crawford vs. Spence when there is a terminator in the super middleweight division with the power to shatter the orbital bone of a super heavyweight. Canelo is like a more extreme version of Deontay Wilder, he can get outboxed for rounds, but once he lands, the opponent willl end up having career ending surgery. If you put Anthony Joshua in the ring with Canelo Alvarez he will run scared all night like Kovalev. Ward said he was going t fight AJ after beating Kovalev, so Canelo should do the same.

Roy Jones by a wide UD. It’s a great style matchup for Roy.
