Plant in 2021? But not Andrade in 2019?

It's important that Plant has something Canelo wants. A 4th belt for undisputed at 168.

But let's rewind the clock 2 years. Canelo had just beat Danny Jacobs. He held the WBA, WBC, and IBF belts at 160. Demetrius Andrade held the WBO.

Canelo could have gone for undisputed then by fighting Demetrius Andrade, but he chose not to. Why does undisputed matter now but not back then?

If the IBF and WBC didn't strip Canelo, He would have fought Andrade after Kovalev.

Because an opportunity for a LHW belt came up and it was against the biggest name at LHW and also the most beatable champion.

Both sides confirmed there were talks in summer of 2019 for a September unification fight for Canelo vs Andrade. Problem was DAZN was trying to force the GGG trilogy as Oscar De La Hoya had told them he could get Canelo to do it when they were signing GGG.
DAZN told Canelo they wouldn’t approve any opponent other than GGG.
Had DAZN not gotten in the way Canelo would have whipped Andrade’s ass and unified 160. Once that was no longer an option he left 160 behind and focused on 168.
        Now you know.

They approved Kovalev, who didn't even fight on DAZN. Andrade did fight on DAZN.

Correct! There was a lot of issues with regards to this in terms of promoters. I believe this is another case where De La Hoya dropped the ball and failed to inform Canelos camp of the extension that was given to negotiate the next fight which led to him being stripped of a title.

Yea but Plant is boring. Saunders obviously didn't have that same kind of confidence against Boo Boo or else he wouldn't have cheated and pulled out.
