So we can enjoy fights because we are fans of the sport, but then? There is another level, and that is what I am touching upon.

What you have with Tyson Fury, once he disappears, is beaten or retires 'That type of rapport, you may never experience again'. Reason why I say this is because you are a adult, it is different when you are a kid. More impressionable maybe, I can be cold towards athletes these days.

David Haye was the last real fighter I had a rapport with, if he lost? I would be devastated, I would get over it but 'I would be affected for a week or so'.

I still don't like how his career ended, and I also see how those defeats affected him 'Haye is too matey matey these days, and he is like this because of those loses'.

Deep down, I think he still dislike's Tony Bellew.

Definitely, But if it’s something you’re passionate about then I think you do enjoy it on a different level than the casual watcher just wanting to see some excitement, which to them is guys swinging we had each other.

it’s true about the rapport thing, BJS and Fury are my favourite fighters, and GGG. Nothing to do with their background or anything, I just followed their careers since the very start, similar age group. I boxed as an amateur as a teenager and knew the name Billy Joe Saunders, but never crossed paths. So when he qualified for the Olympics at age 18, I knew the name and followed him since. I remember Fury’s debut on a Froch undercard and seeing his interviews and just found him to be a real character. When people thought he was just some big joke that wouldn’t go anywhere, I could see he had something. As for them as people, I don’t care about any athlete and their personality. Nobody knows who people are behind closed doors, even though who act like a saint.

im sure the older I get, I’ll no longer have that connection to fighters. I think it’s normal, I don’t think many adults would feel a real rapport or get invested in people much younger. Same goes for anything in life, such as music.

The first fight, I mean excitement is different for everyone. But i'm sure he's not the only person in the world who didn't find the first fight exciting. It was not exactly a fight of the year candidate.

When Erislandy Lara is in a fight of the year over your fight, you know your fight was boring.

I'm jk though, Lara-Hurd was a good fight to watch.

Also I think Wilder did make it into the FightOTY candidacy in 2018 iirc, vs Ortiz. But Fury never really is in fights of the year. He surprised everyone with his aggression vs Wilder in the rematch. He was very tame vs Wlad, winning on a boring points decision throwing single digit punches per round.

No fight is boring if? You are invested in the fighter.

Casual fans are not deeply invested in anything, people in general today are not invested in much 'That is why people watch the news, to get a kick out of watching wars and people in misery'.

I know for a fact that you, from start to finish was on edge during Fury vs Wilder I.

I was the same when David Haye fought Wladimir Kiltschko.

People's perceptions change when the are invested or genuine fans etc

Good point, when you watch the build up shows and are invested in the fighters the match is suspenseful, ive seen some action packed undercard fights on plv and the audience was just sitting there not excited, you would get a few cheering but those are fight fans, most casuals and fair weathers just go for status and main event.
