This, the kid's energy management has improved dramatically over the years. What I'm seeing now is avery much more composed and yes - economical fighter - there's also something to be said for simply having the repeated experience in huge events which his opponents are very often encountering for the first time. PEDs? Sure, I wouldn't be surprised but the same goes for most other fighters too. They could make a marginal difference to his stamina but folk imagining that punching power has much to do with raw strength really don't get it... accuracy and technique are what causes the damage. Only thing I could think of that really makes landed punches do significantly more damage is loading the gloves or somesuch and I ain't seen any evidence to make me think any such accusations would be warranted.

Nah, Canelo has grown into an elite fighter by making the most of the opportunities he's been presented with and growing from his experience. I probably won't ever be a particular fan, and it irks me that the sport is set up in such a way that some fighters get far more opportunities than others, but that ain't Ginger's fault. Kid's taken full advantge of what he's been given when he could have taken an easier path and still been a superstar. Gotta credit him for that.

I will never trust Canelo being clean again after getting popped for clen before. Also, doping runs very deep in elite Mexican boxing and it's pretty clear who uses and who doesn't.

That said, Canelo was awfully impressive. I felt like he was being out boxed but he was com*****g BJS' movements and landed the shot he needed to. I could tell he was setting that up several rounds prior. He threw that same punch several time and missed it. When it did land, obviously it had tremendous effect.

What opportunities does he get that others don't?

Andrade should have fought BJS by now. And BJS could have fought Golovkin by this point. Benavidez called Charlo out but that isn't happening next...something to remember if Canelo vs Benavidez ends up happening first.

Absolutely nobody wanted to fight high risk/low reward Erislandy Lara when Canelo stepped up and faced him.

Floyd beat lots of guys and what did they go on to do after their loss with the new experience under their belt?

Canelo approaches this sport like a true professional. He has earned what he has through years of consistent hard work. It irks me to see him accused of PEDs by the envious or mediocre, especially when he has probably done more VADA testing in the last six months than any boxer in the sport.

And I fail to see how any of this came about by getting chances that weren't available to others.

Earl-Hickey has been on fire the past week on here! I'd add some firey emojis, but I can't work out how to on this dodgy forum setup. Anybody know what Canelo weighed on fight night? He could be brutally KTFOing Cruiserweights in the next year or two, and nobody will question a thing. It would be funny if it wasn't such a dangerous sport.
