Canelo and the inconvenient truth

I think it's more due to him picking his spots to punch very well and he perfectly paces himself. No wasted energy.
He throws lower punches than the average at 168.
His last 4 opponents weren't really able to push an uncomfortable pace for canelo, the last one was Jacobs and canelo did take his usual rounds off in that fight.
His increase in power is suspect though.Comment

I think all top athletes are on something or other. So it is what it is.
To me, I consider Canelo to be the Cristiano Ronaldo of boxing, In the sense there’s probably more naturally gifted than both in their field, but their relentless work ethic and dedication to keep practicing their craft all year round took them to the top and be one of the best. It always surprises me how little most fighters really work on their craft, just camps for fights twice a year.
as for Canelo’s power, it’s nothing out of the ordinary. Yeah he fractured an eye socket of BJS but that’s an unfortunate injury where you could probably fight another 10 times and not land that shot right in the place that’s going to do that.
he hit BJS with other shots and never looked like dropping him, same as he doesn’t look like dropping plenty of other fighters when he hits them. So I don’t think there’s anything su****ious about his power or it’s a sign of PED’s. it was just a shot that to you will land once in a career in that exact spot. Cotto gave Paulie a similar injury but there was nothing extraordinary about Cotto’s power generally, or su****ious. It can happen.
i think it’s how sharp his punching is that deters opponents, not the power per se.
Do I think he does use PED’s? Maybe, he’s been caught before, but I think most are on it, if they have the money and means to beat the testing or get people to turn a blind eye, it’s business so there’s corruption.
So I’m not going to single out Canelo when most probably do it

I’ll do it, don’t worry, I was out working yesterday.
some of us don’t have time to spend online all day stalking people on dating sites or whatever you do with your life.
anyway it was a good fight. I enjoy the back and forth before fights. We’re not fickle people. We support our fighters and believe they can win, if they don’t, who cares? - it’s boxing, someone will lose. Canelo landed a nice shot and caused a fluke injury. Many had it pretty even until that point but credit to Canelo, you have to land the shots.Comment

Like a boss. The fact you admit it, you don’t have to make the thread. I appreciate honesty. You told me you like Canelo yet you always discredit him? What’s the hidden agenda. I recommend to surrender the gig. Just be honest, Canelo is a badman!

When did I discredit Canelo?
I think he’s one of the best in the world. I think he was undeserving of the draw and win over GGG, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the best fighters out there. He’s the best at 168 now. Plant doesn’t stand a chance, he doesn’t do anything better than BJS, except maybe lived the life better but he’s not as talented. Canelo will walk through him when he feels like it.
BJS might have got pulled out the fight, but I respect a man going 8 rounds while trying to win the fight more than a man going 12 just trying to survive like Smith.
I actually think that version of Billy Joe Saunders on Saturday night would’ve probably beaten anybody else at the weight except Canelo. So that’s high praise for Canelo.
i know know the narrative will BJS lost and quit but he’s a very, very good fighter. It’s just Canelo’s time now where I don’t think anyone beats him. GGG did beat him really but he’s nearly 40 now, so he won’t now.
Saunders stylistically would’ve been the only one at 168 to give him problems, and in a couple of rounds he showed it but it’s hard to sustain. Plant is a less talented and orthodox version of BJS. Benavidez is a big upright straight line fighter, easy work for Canelo, it would look like the Smith fight but probably a bigger beating because Benavidez would open up more but get punished.

Lance Armstrong was once considered one of th greatest of all time in sports, dominating for decades, making people rich in the process, a lot of people.
It wasn't until Armstrong was retired and wasn't paying people's livings anymore the truth came out that he cheated for his entire career.
Every single other cyclist was also on PEDs, so Armstrong was still the best cyclist and the playing field was even.
Canelo just busted the face in of a guy who said he (canelo) should be banned for his positive test but who also had his own positive test and then all of a sudden positive tests werent ban worthy anymore when BJS popped hot. They are all on PEDs, they should just stop testing and stop the charade pretending there are elite athletes who are natural.Comment
