Saunders didn't even flinch. No leg wobble, nothing. The round went on. It wasn't until his eye was swollen shut and his corner stopped the fight that anyone knew anything of significance landed. I seen a very sloppy, wildly swinging Canelo getting beat . The fight was heating up and was getting very interesting. Don't get me wrong , the shot landed, caused physical damage and probably pain none of us has ever endured in our lives, and the fight was rightfully stopped, by the corner. Let's get another thing straight. Nobody on planet earth except Saunders and Tyson Fury thought Saunders had a chance to win. Not one bookie worldwide had Saunders to win. None. This was a cherry picked fight. So what's everyone all excited for ? He beat Billy Joe Saunders . Forget that fake " vacant " WBO belt he won from some stiff named Sharif Isufi or whatever his silly name is. This was a no lose fight for Canelo. And in my mind, he looked like a glorified club fighter.
not sure what fight you watched but dazn crew with the exception of froch we all for BJS. Chris Mannix so
whow even had BJS winning up until the time of the stoppage. Dude watch again, BJS did wobble and hold on from that punch. Canelo even knew he BJS was going to come out for the ninth that’s why he didn’t even sit on the stool between rds. Let me remind you Joe smith from fro. RD 2 on against Barrera.

As someone else said, Mannix had BJS ahead, Froch had Canelo ahead narrowly and literally no one had Canelo running away with it -- even though he clearly landed all of the more venomous shots.

Furthermore, there were plenty of people on these boards who were saying Saunders would win. Plenty of people saying there was no evidence to suggest Canelo knew how to deal with a slick southpaw, plenty of people saying Canelo hadn't stopped any strong opponents and this would therefore go to the cards. The most common viewpoint I read was that BJS would outbox him and then lose to a dodgy decision.

Canelo let him have the bigger ring and then punished him when he eventually caught him the way he wanted. It was a live dog in the ring with him and credit should be given where credit is due.

The time to be complaining about it being a no-lose fight is before the fight. Afterwards, it just sounds like you've been carried away by looking at it through the clarity of hindsight. That said, Canelo is the man at SMW -- it's difficult to find a fight he can lose.
