Big disappointment. Shocked Saunders quit on his stool. All I can figure is his eye socket was fractured. Otherwise, he is a quitter.

Why? Charlo is trash who has fought no one, let charlo fight ggg, Jacob, billy, or boo boo to earn the right to have nelos nuts in his mouth. Charlo is nothing but a dam tune up before a sparring session

BJS was trying to absorb another body shot but Canelo led him down to land that upper cut. NOONE is mentioning these nuances
Excellent observations. Canelo set up that final uppercut beautifully with his body shots and he invested heavily to Saunders’ body from the opening bell

The fight I want to see is Alvarez-Benavidez. That could be really interesting. Canelo doesn't do well with hand speed and DB can ****.

At the end of the day, Canelo did what he was expected to do. Just like when Amir Khan was giving Canelo fits early in that fight, Canelo did what all the ATG boxers did,.and adapted. BJS fought a decent fight. I had it 5-3 for Canelo before the stoppage. But if you were blinded by or swayed by the overzealous announcers, you probably missed the incredible body work Canelo was putting in throughout the entire fight.

Some people complained about Canelo not using the jab....lmao. he doesn't need to jab, when a light feint essentially allows him to set up his power punches, wherever he wants to place them. To me, Canelo steamrolls Plant and Andrade. He wants to unify at 168 and beat plant so that fight is next. After that, we should all want to see Canelo vs Charlo.

saunders was doing good there, shooting his jab from different position shoot and quickly steps off the line, even snapping canelo’s head back with some, he was coming to win, lots of upper body movements, although he still has a habit of jumping back in a straight line and back to the ropes, canelo was kinda rushing at points, missed a lot , but the hard body shots was taking affect and different varieties of counters did land some, thought he was gonna stop billy joe with body shots in the mid or late rounds, but billy joe kept going right, canelo kinda caught his rhythm, caught him ducking down with a devastating shot, alot of very explosive double steps to the side and sneaking through a uppercut from canelo like he showed in his last fight against smith as I thought, but he was little bit running out of ideas in the late rounds, though that last counter right uppercut was nearly perfect. Good fight.

Quitting on your stool becuse you don't fancy a whuppin is one thing. Quitting on your stool because you can't see out of one eye, have broken bones, and face a likely career threatening beating or quality-of-life threatening beating is another.

Once Canelo caved in his face the outcome was inevitable. I don't think you can blame him if he's felt his eye socket go.

Good post. The body shots caused BJS to drop his hands and leave openings. Not to mention that BJS was starting to bite on every feint to the body.

Canelo had set the table nicely for the last 4 rounds.
