To be fair it is not realistic for Saunders to beat Canelo with one eye. He didn't have a punchers chance and he relies heavily on his great upper body movement.

I thought it was relatively close at the time of the stoppage. I didn't score it but Canelo ahead by a round or two seems right. Saunders was really finding his groove and Canelo needed to pull something out of the bag, and he did.


I'd like to see a rematch down the track.

People weren’t noticing what happened long before the shot to the eye. He had him doubled over from 3 vicious body shots that he ran from and I thought he was going down at that point. He then kept bending over very far and holding so Canelo didn’t connect with one more body shot to put him down. Seeing that opening his next shot was perfectly timed. BJS was trying to absorb another body shot but Canelo led him down to land that upper cut. NOONE is mentioning these nuances

I said it before and ill say it again,if Saunders don't beat Canelo, nobody will,not that Saunders had a chance with those judges scorecards,I mean I had Saunders up a round and most of the commentators did as well,so to have Saunders down by 3 rounds like one maybe 2 judges had it,was non sense,BJS never had a chance going to the scorecards

Dang if Canelo's game isn't complete. I still think to beat him one needs a granite chin, a come-forward style, and some serious power a la GGG (I know GGG didn't beat him, but he gave him two very close fights). GGG is probably over the hill now, so is there anyone out there that fits that mold and can bully the bulldog that is Canelo Alvarez???

GGG was over the hill when they first fought, hes completely on the other side by now.

But your point is right, save for an ATG like Floyd just out classing him at the time, the only way to beat Canelo right now is have a chin to take his punches and hit him right back with something (ala GGG 1)
