That being said, I think he's improved a lot since the Floyd/Lara days and the BJS fight showcased it.
Pump the brakes! Hold the **** on! BJS can move, but when it comes to sharp-shooting precise punches, he’s nowhere near Lara’s level, let alone Floyd Mayweather. BJS is nowhere near as good defensively, obviously less-skilled fundamentally as Mayweather. Canelo doesn’t have any current boxer in the upper or lower weight classes who can systematically/fundamentally disrupt his rhythm the way Floyd/Lara did.

Canelo is P4P the best in the world right now, but pump the brakes about how this version of him would do this and that to Floyd Mayweather, that’s a proven myth. Fundamentally, he’s still a tier or two below Floyd, and on top of that Floyd was a superior athlete in his prime(speed, timing, reaction time, etc. Canelo still has the same advantages now going for him now as he did then against Floyd, youth, size and overall physical power.

      Floyd would school other greats

Alvarez is great but has yet to school other greats. When faced with very good opponents he usually gets a controversial decision or the fight was very competitive.

As a boxing fan you do want to see the best active guy have some dominant performances against the best

Never said BJS was as good as Lara or Floyd. I never said Canelo would ever beat Floyd in his prime either. All I'm saying he's clearly a better boxer than he was back in 2013/2014 when he fought Floyd/Lara.
