Thank you commenters for actually giving an explanation.
    I was like huh why?
Even if he has signed for TR shouldn't they want him to be fighting the eliminator then if he beats Hrgovic go on that tr diet of cans & pins until a belt shot becomes available.

I wonder why Hunter backed out the fight? Maybe a better fight? I would like to see him fight Deontay Wilder or Usyk!

And here I was thinking Hunter would fight anybody. I'll give it a few days to see what he says, could be injury etc, before I call it a duck.

It's a shame, that was a good fight.

I remember when the fight got mentioned at the back end of last year. Hunter said he wanted it but had his next 3 fights planned..all low key ones, that didn't materialize. Maybe he was never really serious about taking the fight after all.

The same guy that was saying he would fight the champions for free.

definitely a duck. Dunno why, Hunter has no promoter and sells no tickets. This going to purse bids would’ve been the only money he would get anytime soon. Winnable fight too, Hrgovic is good but a bit of a big stiff European lummox. Hunter’s style would’ve made it a good fight.

How is he getting a better fight ? That’s his only way into an A.J fight .

You know he’s not fighting Usyk and Wilder is a farce because I don’t see Wilder risking it against a sound boxer with a decent punch known to give big heavyweight guys trouble .

Hunter already ducked Hrgovic when he left Dazn by signing a 3 fight deal against nobodies not even in the top 100 when the fight was proposed to him last yr, Hrgovic has been telling everyone it was a a social media stunt on the part of Hunter who’s been calling him out . He was right ,I told you guys , he was offered the fight while under Matchroom contract as well .

Yeah, you can speculate on the reasons, but Hunter definitely didn't want it, he's had plenty of time and opportunities to get this one done and has avoided it. I'm interested to see if Parker takes that spot

Another slave to the criminal American promotion masters. He was 1 fight and win away for becoming a mandatory to what could well be an undisputed champion and in a fight that had been picked up by Eddie Hearn for a good pay day too.

Alas, Hunter wants to go another route which is likely a longer route for less money. Rumour is Haymon has got his dirty claws in to him at the PBC but it could just as easily be Crispy Arum with Top Rank.

Either way we got ourselves another American Boxer who is turning down something good for something worse and you have to either be an idiot, a chicken or have been manipulated by one of these sleazy yank outfits for that to happen.

No wonder American fans have no interest in American Boxing these days. Just a load of ducking dossers now.
