Then there will be 600k people buying Mayweather vs. Marquez when it's all said and done and they will get a better fight than is expected.
Those were different times. The economical landscape was completely different as was the status of the sport. If this fight does not do more than 600K, it will be considered a failure given all the promotion and marketing that went behind it.

Pacquiao vs Marquez did 450K and that was ONLY with an HBO countdown, no WWE, no Dancing With The Stars, etc. I'm hoping it does a lot because the sport needs to, but the fight would have to be entertaining as well so that the fans don't feel cheated like they did after Mayweather/De La Hoya

This Fight Does Not Prove Anything

It is hard to sell fight that that does not prove anything. This fight will only prove how rusty Mayweather is. No more no less. I just wait for it on the news.
This fight for Mayweather is only "testing the water" or preparing for something big. This is not BOXING this is money-making.

if jmm wins it will absolutley prove something, everyone on here is crying about how it wont sell, isnt all of boxing about money-making ???especially ppvs.it will be a good fight, a very sgnificant one that will change the matchmaking, pac vs cotto isnt exactly "a prove anything fight" either. here you have 2 guys that have never been stopped, pac- cotto you have 2 guys that have been ko'd plus one is on a serious decline(cotto) how that makes it a better ppv i dont know?.unless people have a stake in the ppv revenue they shouldnt be crying about the numbers, its ridiculous what the hell do you care what the nubers are?like david diaz vs pac shattered records or even was worthy of a ppv.

Hard to sell, there is no question that is the case because everybody know what gayweather is doing, choosing another boxer to add a victory in his resume. Marquez is a good boxer, no question about it, but he is to small, light and too slow for Gayweather. Why Gayweayther did not choose someone from his same size? Because he knew a good welter weight will give him a lot of trouble or possible beat him very easy. The promoters of this fight are so desperately about the sales of this fight. Do not get surprise when the match gel close, Gayweather will come with another lie, “I hurt my uterus, and I have a lot of pain, I have to cancel the fight”. Gayweather is just a freaking clown.

Best way to get more PPV buys, cut the price.

"not a hard sell, but being sold hard"....quote of the day!!
next thing coming is ppv at $30.
the cinema is also a ppv...floyd and gbp will count the butts that paid!
they can claim big ppv numbers...and still come short to break-even ($$)!

floyd has plenty to prove in this fyt...... and everything to lose.

i expect him to go all guns blazing, to silence his critics...even for a moment!
