you cant count each person. think about a bar that will order it. that ***** gon be packed but all they can count for is each cable/sat box that they have. and thats usually bout 5

I don't pretend to know the details, but I've read in a couple of places that the fight needs to generate above 750k for the promoters to turn a profit. Personally I doubt that happens and if the previous estimates are correct it will be a big blow to GBP in a year of smaller blows. I don't believe they are doing to well and once they lose their dates with HBO (I don't know if their dates with ESPN continue next year) they are going to be in some trouble. Top Rank will continue to be on top for quite a while.

the cinema is also a ppv...floyd and gbp will count the butts that paid!
they can claim big ppv numbers...and still come short to break-even ($$)!

floyd has plenty to prove in this fyt...... and everything to lose.

i expect him to go all guns blazing, to silence his critics...even for a moment!
It's funny every Pac/Cotto fan sees any promotion done for this fight and they say "it's to make up for money already lost", "they haven't sold any tickets", etc. What event of this magnitude doesn't get sold hard? You think 2 to 3 weeks before Pac vs Cotto they won't be out doing promotion for it? Thats like people saying, "oh that 24/7 episode with Pac hanging with poor kids in the Phillipines is because he doesn't sell ppv and Bob Arum is desparately trying to draw attention to Pac". What happens when it comes out that this fight is a success? I mean the only people I hear saying it isn't going to be successful are Pac and Cotto fans. Who cares if you buy this fight, do you guys ever buy Mayweather fights anyway? HBO thinks it's going to be a seller, they gave Mayweather not Pac or Cotto, Mayweather 15 mill already.... I think they know a little more about boxing promotion than the idiot Pac/Cotto fans making haterish comments.

With UFC 103? And a fight that the result is already known before it even started? I believe 400K will be a big surprise.

Wow. You pretty much nailed it.

                "Desperado"

We really don't know what the PPV numbers will do. But one thing we do know is that Pacquiao vs Cotto fight is practically Sold Out and the last time I checked for tickets for the Mayweather vs Marquez fight, which was 5 minutes ago, you can still buy 10 tickets at $300 each. What does that tell you about the interest of this fight. The only thing that matters are the numbers and it doesn't look good for the Mayweather vs Marquez fight. GBP don't think so either. That's why they said, see you at the movies, cause it will be cheaper for you. That's called "Desperado".
