Tell me, what makes you think Canelo beats Bivol

Ggg beat Jacobs whom most def was elite when he fought him,& yes I'll agree his resume was sht,but he was Undefeated & rated p4p#1,& I consider Bivol to be on his level if Canelo fights him. I don't consider Bivol a bum, I'm merely pointing out that he hasn't fought anyone good yet. I am merely pointing out that the guy he barely sc****d by was domestic level & a complete cherrypick.
You dragged me into a flame war by misquoting what my point was. My point was merely that Richards is a far less impressive win than Smith/Kov etc. I still want Canelo to fight Bivol & I still want Bivol to fight whoever is a threat too.
And I still consider Kov a great win(& I'm betting time will prove me right eventually)Comment

Canelo himself said that Jacobs dominated GGG.

I dragged you into that and apologized. It thought you were saying Callum Smith's pedigree is better than Bivol's. Chilemba, Pascal aren't elite fine, but they are still better fighters than anyone on Callum's resume, that was my point.
It's a good win, not a great win. Canelo only wanted him because he looked vulnerable, not because he was destroying guys the way he was when Ward fought him.Comment

Whilst admittedly I haven’t seen too much of Bivol, from what I’ve seen I think Canelo has a great chance of beating him.Comment

He was vulnerable aging lion, you trying to tell me if it was so easy to take out a aging lion & pull his whiskers more fighters wouldn't do similar to lesser aging lions? Remember it was Mall Charlo whom says he had to once & for all give Canelo his respect(surprised many ppl) He said he wants to someday do what Canelo was doing by fighting Kovalev. (Kovalev was & still is a threat to anyone especially a small cashcow moving up in weight for 1 fight)

Kov had only really truly been kod 1 time,& he was at the low point of his career & he avenged that defeat with a straight up clinic schooling he put on. (I see him as just as worthy a win for Canelo as Fury koing AJ next)
My point is that Bivol to me would be a slight underdog to Canelo. And that Kovalev is worth more as a scalp than anything Bivols done.(regardless if Kov was 36 he still had very lil wear & tear as his fights were mostly quick kos(only 1 actual ktfo he had,Ward tkod him in weird circumstances)
Kovalev had the ultimate pedigree, arguably beating Ward & being a longtime boogieman. (Its easy to revise history & say Canelo shouldn't get much credit, but theres a reason the last champ(afaik) at mw to go up to lhw v a champ immediately from mw was **** Tiger)

agreed. with all this. Kovalev wasn't the same, but these are the same posters who thought Kovalev was robbed against Ward (I thought Ward won..) and that Kov was winning until the "nut shot". With one avenged KO loss, it would seem like he hasn't been completely destroyed. He was also a world champ and showed he wasn't a gatekeeper when he beat the undefeated prospect yarde who was 18-0 with 17 ko's.

Canelo also had to jump 2 weight classes. If beating Kov or any "easy" 175 champ was easy, we'd see guys like GGG, Charlo, Andrade, etc trying to the same time. It's not easy fighting somebody way naturally bigger than you.Comment

It was easy to take him out. Eleider Alvarez already did it lmao, and Alvarez just got destroyed by Smith Jr. in his last fight.

If this was such a big risky fight, he would not have been a -500 betting favorite. The betting market isn't ******, they knew Kovalev was washed. There's a huge reason the betting market thought that Kovalev had much less of a chance of winning than Danny Jacobs or GGG.
I never said Canelo can't beat Bivol, but guarantee you Canelo would be much less of a favorite against Bivol than he was against Kovalev.Last edited by TernceBudCharlo; 05-03-2021, 04:15 PM.Comment

When did I saw Kovalev was robbed against Ward? I thought Ward won the first fight and Kovalev was badly outclassed in the second fight.

Nah not saying you did. But there was a large consensus of posters who thought Kovalev was robbed badly in the first fight, and that Kovalev was winning the 2nd fight until Andre started "cheating" and that the fight was called off early. If that's the case, and Kovalev avenged one of his losses to Alvarez, that isn't so much mileage for a boxer. But since Canelo KO'd him it's "Oh he washed"Comment
