The expectation that Bivol would fight Beterbiev has long been around. Now that there is talk of a fight with Canelo and Beterbiev, and Beterbiev in his mid-thirties it's looking less likely they will face each other before Beterbiev ages out.
Maybe Bivol is content to let Beterbiev age? Like you, I am increasingly unconvinced that Bivol intends to push for fights like that. Of course he'd take the mega Canelo payday, every fighter 160-175 is hoping for it! But, outside of that, he isn't really making moves us he?

I wonder if Hearn or Bivol are letting that thought drive their current path. He can let Artur age, maybe even let him fight Smith and absorb some more mileage on the odometer...all the meanwhile keeping himself open to Canelo. Other than Andrade, not many potential Matchroom opponents for Canelo and Eddie would like nothing more than to keep prompting Alvarez fights.

He is one win away. Beterbiev and Smith will likely fight each other, because it is Top rank fight.

        Bivol fights the winner.

Hopefully he will face the winner between Beterbiev vs Smith Jr. I wonder how serious he is about moving down to 168. If he does, then that changes the situation.

They need to fight before the end of next year. It would be a helluva fight, and the winner could face Joe Smith Jr for all the marbles, which I'm sure Smith would be happy to do.
I agree they do need to make this fight happen Russia vs Russia , boxer vs puncher too bad boxing is too much of a shiiit show to give us the fights we actually want or that actually matter .
