Ruiz-Arreola confirms what I always thought about Ruiz.

Even after he beat AJ I always felt he was just the right guy with the right style in the right place at the right time. AJ was and still is a vulnerable fighter and Ruiz was able to expose his flaws. But for me Ruiz is a C level guy, I don’t even think he’s a top 10 guy tbh and never have. I know a lot of people do but personally I don’t see it. Aside from AJ the resume is paper thin and the performance last night was hardly impressive. I like Ruiz’s style but I think he gets crazily overrated based on one good win.

Exactly what I said in other threads

he’s a second or third tier heavyweight who had one great night and punch against vulnerable fighter. I’d fancy a fair few heavyweights to beat Ruiz.

At best I’d put him around the level of Parker and Chisora for his true level. Eventually that will be shown when he has to fight people who aren’t Arreola in his 40’s.

But he will dine out on the AJ win for a bit until then

I think he absolutely is top 10. The division is just ****ing awful. Parkers performance vs old Chisora just further emphasizes it.

Ruiz, Whyte, Povetkin, Ortiz, Parker, Chisora, Pulev are all around the same level.

Yeah completely agree man. I was actually gonna make a comparison to Chisora in the sense they’ll make it tough for the better guys but won’t beat them.

Parker is top 10. Has several decent wins. He’s in that 6-10 range for me.

                Ruiz literally only has 1.

Parker, Ortiz and Whyte are all top 10 guys IMO, possibly Pulev as well. Povetkin is shot and needs to retire and Chisora has never progressed beyond domestic level tbh. He’s 0-7 vs former/current/future European champions and 0-6 vs former/current/future World champions.

                    Ruiz did arguably beat Parker.
