Lara vs either Charlo ASAP. I would love to see Lara spank that ass like the old gym tales that used to circulate when they were all with Ronnie Shields .

What I said the night of the fight, plus scorecard, and I linked to the discussion.
Lara damn near pitched a shutout on the due in an absolutely boring performance.
For instance round 12, you gave Lara, but said Castano was more active. In round 12 (according to compubox), Castano outlanded Lara 23-12. Even if they were off, by like 7 punches, Castano still outworked Lara, and it should be a clear Castano round, which would have your scorecard 7-5 Lara.
The other 7 rounds, were either dead even, or leaned towards one fighter by 4 or 5 punches (3 even, 2-Lara, 2 Castano). Even the final numbers had Castano with like a 70 power punch landed edge.
In summary, 5 rounds were clear Castano, the other 7 could've gone either way, depending on what you saw. It looks like you gave Castano 4/5 rounds he won big (Even giving 1 of those to Lara), and gave Lara every close round. I saw a different fight. If a round is about Even, I go with #1 the guy who appeared to land the harder shots, if there isn't one, I look at who was more active. If nobody really is, I do the dreaded 10-10 thing.
Again kudos on the scorecard. The fight I remember, Lara just got out worked, and the rounds that were very clear, were Castano. I had it 7-5 or 8-4. I will go back and rescore. It was a good fight, so I have no problem rescoring the good ones.
Edit: Even after the fight, I remember thinking to myself, "this dude is just too young, too active for Lara at this point." If there was a rematch, it'd favor Castano even more.Last edited by FLY TY; 05-02-2021, 10:20 AM.

Wtf? Haven't been keeping up with boxing lately. I though cornflake was just a meme. Didn't they'd give him a shot against a guy like Lara.

I can kinda understand Lara fighting for the WBA regular title at a new weight, but why was Cornflake allowed to be his opponent? Just one in an endlist list of reasons to not give a damn about these ABC bodies and their belts.

I don't write down my thoughts, I'm usually scoring mentally round by round. I know punch stats aren't the end all/be all, but after looking just now, it reflected the fight I thought I saw that night.

Here's the flaw in your outcome.
I don't gift rounds due to CompuBox stats, which tend to be grossly misleading.
Were we to do that, Keef Thurman clearly beat Manny Pacquiao. But you know that's not what you saw. Right?
It's not about landed punches. It's about, ROUND BY ROUND, scoring each as a separate fight, which guy appears to be in charge and which one appears to be on the retreat, and why?
The stuff CompuBox said Castano landed hit gloves more often than it didn't. Some stuff they said Lara landed, didn't.
Castano was the aggressor, but his aggression was ineffective the vast majority of the fight.
That's why I provided the context. With Lara, you can CLEARLY tell when he gets landed on, because his head rocks back obviously. That hardly happened.
If you want to rewatch just to validate what I'm saying by all means, but I'm warning you now - it was a BORING fight from Lara, easily his worst, against a guy who (at the time at least) would have matched well with Jeff Horn. Just to put it in perspective.
