I was surprised to see this. I didn’t realize that when O’Neil Bell beat Mormeck it was for the IBF/WBA/WBC titles & Bell was considered the undisputed champion as the WBO wasn’t recognized yet at that point in 2006 (Similar in the HW division). Mormeck won the rematch but only received the WBA/WBC titles as the IBF wouldn’t allow the belt to be on the line because the IBF had Steve Cunningham as the mandatory. Haye beat Mormeck & Maccarinelli in his final 2 fights at CW to win 3 of the 4 belts. Cunningham would win IBF belt & lost it to Adamek before both moved up to HW. Would have been neat to see Haye fight both of them at CW or HW. If the IBF belt was at stake against Mormeck he not Usyk would have been the first to hold all 4.
David Haye could have been crowned undisputed CW champion after beating Maccarinelli

Haye gets a lot of flack on this site for his antics and not being able to deliver in the Wlad and Bellew fights, but he was a very legit CW, and a pretty good Heavy. He had a great KO over a prime Chisora and was the first to official beat Valuev. In his prime I think the Usyk fight at CW is a pick 'em 50/50 type of a thing. -
Agree he gets a lot of grief unnecessarily! Prob down to his personality and some poor fights towards the end. He was the first boxer I really got behind, was at the macranelli fight and ended up going to Germany to watch Wlad fight Chagaev when Haye pull out!
