Floyd ducked the rematch with a fake retirement. Oscar was robbed in that fight. Vegas saw a longer and lucrative future with Floyd as Oscar's career was winding down.

Serious question. Why didn't Floyd rematch Oscar? It's the only thing that bothers me about his career.

Oscar was about 40% risk too high for FloydLast edited by djtmal; 08-06-2025, 11:21 AM.

I don't buy that. Oscar was super rich and did not have the drive and discipline to get down to 147 anymore, his soft body showed it.
Oscar made 147 against pacquiao and he was dead. The same thing would have happened if the opponent was floyd in a rematch at 147 like it was scheduled.Last edited by Hustle; 08-07-2025, 02:30 PM.SouthpawRight likes this.

i think oscar realized he was done as a fighter when pac took him out so easily, and it wasnt just weight related. the floyd fight gave him false confidence since he did pretty well against floyd, but floyds defensive style gave oscar the opportunities to look better than he really was.

Floyd shouldve rematch DLH as he would've won. When you win favourable decision in 1st fight it gives you an extra yard in rematch. Floyd probably thought he lost against dlh, and that he didnt, floyd must have felt nobody could touch him if it went to judges, whilst dlh in rematch would feel he had uphill battle, there are things in this world beyond our control.
We can appreciate how hard it is to perform at your best under those circumstancesLast edited by hugh grant; 08-07-2025, 05:46 PM.
