Is it? See that’s my issue with why people are picking Fury to win. They aren’t breaking the fight down, only saying Joshua lost and then “ran” from Ruiz, and Fury destroyed Wilder. Joshua showed he has the power to put down a man who had never been put down in Ruiz 1. He then showed that he could box and be patient too in the Ruiz 2. Granted, in the Ruiz loss, he showed us he does not have an iron chin and durability and can be hurt.

But we knew that didn’t we? Joshua had been dropped and hurt before, that doesn’t change anything for me going into the Fury fight. Fury against Wilder showed me he can bully a guy who weighs 40 lbs less and doesn’t know how to fight inside, which he had already shown before against Cunningham. Joshua is neither of those two things. If he decides to box Joshua, it’ll come down to who lands the better punches and i’m going with Joshua.

    • Setting the pathetic ignorant fanboy posts aside...

Anyone who remotely understands the sport knows that this is a very very tough fight to call. You can't just focus on the strengths or weaknesses of one fighter and assume that this will determine the outcome. Yes, Fury has great movement for a huge man and IMHO a truly exceptional boxing IQ. Yes he can punch enough to hurt people. Yes he knows how to feint and set traps like few others. Yes he can box and fight and switch his game on a dime, leaving his opponent fighting a version of Fury that is no longer in front of him. And yes he has the heart of a lion. I was at the fight when Wilder put him down and I have NEVER been at a sporting event when the crowd reacted with the amazement they did when he got back up and went after Wilder, it was brave and it was brilliant. So yes, he is a terrific fighter.

But what about AJ? Gold medal winner and he has faced way way tougher competition than any other active heavyweight, including Fury, and he did so early in his career. His matchmaking has been fearless. And when he make the mistake of going in the for kill against Ruiz and got caught, against all advice he immediately took the rematch and won by making major adjustments. This guy learns. He is not the same from one fight to the next. He lives the style of a professional athlete, trains like a beast and learns. He is technically well schooled and has serious power in both hands. And he is explosive, if he gets you hurt he will very likely finish you. He also has fast feet and fast hands. He used to gas out but has grown into his body and his stamina has improved hugely. He knows how to move in and out and he knows how to fight inside. He got sparked out by Ruiz and he has been hurt. Klitschko hurt him and so did Whyte. But he came back and won except for Ruiz. He got hit harder and cleaner by K but for some reason the R punch scrambled him. It happens.

We don't know how it will go with these two outstanding fighters. I don't pretend to know. Styles make fights and you can have theories about it but you can only realize understand quite how styles mesh after the fight. But they will both be well prepared and it will be fascinating to see how they play it. F will be much more careful with AJ than he was with W - W is technically clueless and was like a clumsy child to F. AJ is a different animal. AJ has to figure out how to get into a range he wants and it won't be easy.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but not their own facts. This is not an easy fight to call. And anyone who thinks this is an easy fight just betrays their own complete and utter lack of understanding of the sport. Seriously, if that kind of naive trolling is the best you can do, go watch youtube and follow Jake Paul because frankly, that is the level of understanding you've got.

To serious fight fans...let's pat Eddie on the back for seeing it through, sit back and see how this fascinating fight unfolds.

      • Fury struggled wuth Cunnigham (who turned out to be a useless HW) and Wallin (who wasn't even top-20 at the time). Fury can make sluggers like WIlder look dumb but anyone who is a decent boxer and live - he will find it hard against. Fury's best chance is to psych AJ out like he did with Wlad.

        • I don't like AJ's body. He reminds me of Frank Bruno. Carrying a lot of big heavy muscle doesn't help, it just makes you less mobile & tires you out sooner. The only H/w with a bodybuilder physique who could fight at all was Ken Norton & I'm convinced he'd have been a better fighter with less muscle. TF may look a bit porky but he can move a lot more easily than AJ. Also, TF is fighting out of Kronk. Who's betting against Kronk?

Its amazing how many rednecks have gotten butthurt by this woman expressing her opinion. Its also pretty obvious that all of you who couldn’t control yourselves and had to come on here and say “because he’s black” only support Tyson Fury because he is your great white hope.

Absolutely. She's trying to say that I think he learnt a lot from the Andy Ruiz fight but like, AJ ran and was getting rattled whenever he got hit. This is by a fat midget, imagine with a giant sized gypsy is going to do. AJ is going to get thoroughly starched and the world will bend a knee to the one true Gypsy King.

Not as a killer. Fury can be whatever he wants to. He has several different styles. I hope he catches AJ so many times while the kangaroo jumps so that AJ quits like he did vs Ruiz.

I hope he'll frustrate AJ, not simply batter him.

                • I think AJ.

Fury on the front foot: Fury's tremedous win over Wilder was because he recognised that, with the very limited boxing talent that Wilder had, Wilder was ineffective on his back foot. The same can not be said of AJ. AJ will effectively counter if pressed by Fury. Lesser boxers such as Walin had success against Fury's pressure.

Fury on the back foot: Fury could run but with AJ's output and pressing the action, he is likely to get a decision. This will not be the Chisora situation where is was picked off at will by Fury on the back foot because Chisora lacked size and mobility.

Go down to any gym against a 200+lb pro boxer and let him land an overhand right on your chin and see how you handle it, getting dropped by a fighter doesn't define you & what you can achieve, ask Ali about Cooper.

                    "robbery win"

McDermott Fury was a very close fight, Fury was an 8 fight pro, McDermott was a veteran, it was a competitive fight at the time, BOTH were DOMESTIC level fighters at that time. Don't try and remove context trying to discredit Fury. Who was AJ fighting as an 8 fight pro? All I know he was at the Fury McDermott fights as a fanboy and a fanboy he will remain.

after Fury handles AJ with ease don't start sucking him off.

If you want to compare competition and stepped up quicker you will lose badly. The point i was making is people are writing Joshua off for getting caught by far better fighters than Fury has been. Yet Fury supposed the HW Pernell Whittaker.
