lol. the reality is that a Canelo quote riled you up! lol. soft ass boxing fans... bringing up ''African American'' and race with no synonymity in generalizing the vast melting pot nations...while crying about racism. Canelo for years and still today says Muhammad Ali was the greatest, but we've got Gervonta Davis fans crying about racism...

I keep telling you guys, the LDBC ruined the creativity and thought process for proper forum drama.

I think all this “Mexican style” is just bull**** most fighters fight differently you will find hard brawlers, movers and human punchbags just as much as any other nationality i think it’s just kind of like a placebo effect they give themselves for more confidence but if it works why the **** not i guess.

I remember reading an article on GQ magazine around 2001-02. It was the last article of the magazine, I forgot the exact name of the article but I remember it had the words "Mexican boxing." - the article focused on the first Morales v. Barrera fight. I was surprised GQ would do an article on boxing.

I also remember Roy Jones Jr. praising Mexican fighters and saying that most upsets in boxing were by Mexican fighters.

exactly. and posters or ''boxing fans'' in this thread get offended for weird reasons. lol boxing fans should know that Canelo is CLEARLY referring to ''intestinal fortitude'' as SRL would state, not style or techniques in fighting. lol

''The mentality that a Mexican fighter has is to never crack, to always give his best until the end.'' Thuglife Nelo

even Calzaghe didn't fold under pressure against RJJ or Hopkins..

The biggest Mexican name in boxing was washed and looked clueless against an undersized African American fighter. That's the definition of balls. Totally shut out and owned that like a bitch he tried to emulate that whole Afro American style unsuccessfully ever since.

Mexican fighters have no problem throwing punches, and connecting punches, but "slipping" punches is not usually high on their priority list! That's what separates Canelo from the typical "Mexican Style" fighters! "Hit and not get hit," is more popular among African American, Puerto Rican, and Cuban fighters!

Btw, Canelo's no closet h0mo like Gayweather. So there's that.
how do you know mayweather is a closet h0mo and how do you know canelo isn’t? Do you have secret knowledge of the closet h0mo underworld?? Apparently you need me to answer a question that I asked you first as you can’t answer without my input, so her you go. Both mayweather and canelo are guilty of picking past prime opponents but canelo has faced more guys 35 and older while still in his prime than mayweather ever did. Mayweather was older than most of his big name opponents while canelo was usually much younger. Mayweather on one hand wanted to make sure his opponents were coming off big wins while canelo often picks fighters after they’re coming off poor performances. Both are guilty of stacking the deck in their favor with catch weights but canelo has done so more than mayweather and also included rehydration clauses which mayweather never did. Not to mention only canelo has tested positive for taking illegal substances. Both have had bad scorecards in their favor but canelo has had more ridiculous scorecards given to him than mayweather ever has. Both have had their share of boring fights where they were overly defensive and both have fairly low ko %s. Mayweather at 54% and canelo at 63%. So there you have the similarities and differences.
