But....he beat luke Campbell for the real WBC championship and then was upgraded to 'franchise champion' afterwards. Whereas devin was the interim wbc champion who was upgraded to full once lomachenko was upgraded. So in theory, lomachenko was the true WBC champion anyway.
so in my opinion lopez is undisputed. Without the ****** upgrade, devin would still be interim and lopez would hold all the 'true' championship belts. So this 'lopez isn't undisputed till he beats haney makes no sense.

Haney wanted to fight Loma. The WBC shafted him by giving him the belt by introducing the Franchise belt.

Lopez beat the guy who never actually lost the full WBC belt had it swapped for the Franchise belt. So the WBC shafted Lopez too.

So Lopez isn't the undisputed champ and Haney was robbed of a huge name on his resume and all at the hands of the greedy WBC and their franchise belt.

Haney and Lopez should fight and the winner throws the fake nonsense franchise belt in the bin. To be fair both are top end Lightweights so even if neither of them had any belts that is the kind of fight the sport should be making.

Haney v Lopez. Make it happen.

There are many fans who view the Franchise belt as a secondary title on the level of the WBA's "regular" championship.
It has nothing to do with the "fans".
It's other Organizations (WBA, IBF, and WBO) that don't recognize "Franchise" as a WBC champ. They recognize "normal" WBC title (Haney's).
The same way as WBC, IBF, and WBO don't recognize WBA "regular" title, but they recognize WBA "super" title.

Writers of these pages need to learn legal basics. Just being a boxing enthusiast is not enough.

He also said that your beloved Gervonta "Regular" Davis is fighting that Barrios guy for a "Mickey Mouse" title.
I guess that's an inconvenient truth for BoxingScene/CBS/SHO.

Teo and Haney done nothing wrong but WBC needlessly created a situation that's bad for boxing so they can get double sanctioning fees, and the fighters get criticised for it.

Agreed, calling him an undisputed champion is saying that you agreeing with the WBC and their BS organisation.

I do not recognise that belt, Haney has the WBC belt and that’s that. I don’t care if he picked it up in the bin, he has the 4th belt.

Because some of these writers have zero integrity. They know the difference, they choose to ignore it, like how they tried to call Rigo v Casemiro a unification fight on boxingscene.

I wouldn’t call the french fries belt an “Upgrade”.....
