Comments Thread For: ONE Championship CEO: De La Hoya vs. Alvarez Fight is Real Possibility

Last week, MMA veteran Eddie Alvarez revealed that his handlers were approached to discuss the possibility of fighting former six division world champion Oscar De La Hoya. De La Hoya, 48-years-old, retired from boxing after suffering a one-sided stoppage loss to Manny Pacquiao in 2008.

Mario Lopez said the Eddie Alvarez stuff is bs. Eddie is supposed to be booked to fight Apr. 29 as well. Gives lil time for recovery & training for a fight 9wks later.

GSP & Masvidal are the guys they are looking at is what Mario claimed.

ONE might be trying to just get some headlines outta this "real possibility" sh^t.

Dlh was clowning Floyd for the same thing, but then turns around & tries cherrypicking these ufc bums. These are exactly the types of carnie fights that are overshadowing real boxing & making networks pay less for real boxing.

Yeah I know! It was very clever by them too. Like all of us I thought they were referring to Canelo Alvarez. Well Oscar has let it be known that he was at least open for a potential Golovkin showdown though.

Boxingscene staff wouldn’t assume that it’s forum scientists would believe “One Championship” (an Asian MMA powerhouse) could just so casually make a retired star, DLH, fight Canelo when the “scientists” should know Canelo is a boxer for DAZN. Then again LDBC lovers could be duped...

Don't follow Eddie Alvarez but for sure DLH won't get in the ring with Canelo. None of us want to see a massacre. How about Pacquiao--again? ha ha

I almost thought it's De La Hoya vs Canelo. De La Hoya in his prime, yeah, he beats Saul. Not now, but back then yes, more skill, more variety.

Well, I guess the poster who posted just prior to me must be a forum scientist and LDBC too. So perhaps you should save that energy for him because he was the one who brought the topic up not me. I only responded to it.

DLH vs Trinidad II is the only one I'd pay to see.
