Hey at least Garcia is taking on the guys Haney was ducking. Haney wanted a good chunk of change to fight Garcia, problem is, Hearn knows he's not worth it and decided to go a different direction with Haney. This guy is doing what a bunch of guys do nowadays, out price yourself and then claim no one wants to fight you, just like Andrade, Charlo, Crawford, ect ect.

Baby: Real. I should be more cynical when it comes to big fights happening. But there's really no reason for this one not to happen. Garcia whiffed on Tank Davis, and whatever he was hoping for with Manny Pacquiao. He needs a legit belt, and Haney has one.

If Garcia can get past Javier Fortuna, he will be more than ready for a title shot. These young lightweights were supposed to be all about big fights earlier in their careers. So far, only Teofimo Lopez has lived up to that billing. Garcia and Haney stand to lose some of their momentum by not facing each other.

But what he said is true. Nothing wrong with either up coming fight but we all knew that Oscar wouldn't put him in with Tank, Haney type fighters just yet. I'm okay with the fight marinating but quit being a fan boy. We all want to see these guys fight each other. Who cares which one you root for, let's just see the fights.

No matter how you feel about the belt, how do you explain Ryan fighting to become mandatory for that same belt...TWICE? Especially when the second mandatory only came because he didn't fight the champ, in the first place!

If Ryan and Tank win their next fights, they are likely to face off before Haney gets his shot at Garcia. Being the WBC mandatory really is irrelevant as Garcia could have gotten his next now if he wanted it.

The Tank fight is much bigger anyways. Fair play to Garcia for going after the Pacquiao fight but they probably could have gotten the Tank fight done for the summer.
