Matchmaking is a real thing. There's a science to it. TR are by far the best at it. PBC are possibility the worst.

Matchmaking isn’t designed to feed a promising fighter a buffet of stiffs all the way to a title shot that gets you destroyed. Fighters have to overcome when facing adversity. Mielnicki faced adversity in there and failed the test. He has no one to blame but himself. He simply didn’t want to win as much as his opponentPBR Streetgang and Kite1345 like this.

Proper matchmaking is an art. PBC obviously has no clue.Kite1345 likes this.

For Mielnicki this was a loss waiting to happen. He was going to get outboxed sooner or later. His trainers relied on his natural strength and aggressiveness instead of developing his technique, boxing IQ and skills. Good thing he ran into Martin now and not later.Kite1345 likes this.

Because he’s in PBC, you all are claiming it’s poor matchmaking. If this was let’s say another type of PBC fighter...you would be calling him an overhyped fighter. Narrative switching is the real art of this forum depending on who the fighter is and who their fan base is composed of.

Sorry Vito, your wanna be Goodfellas team could only protect you so long. Congrats to Marshall Kauffman and the team.

The flaws in his defense were always there and he did nothing to fix them. He just finally faced someone that could fully expose those flaws. His strategy was all wrong and Martin pounded him. It's comical that he actually thought he won that fight. He'll (hopefully) learn more from this fight than he would from beating countless tin cans. He's still young and hopefully he'll take a hard look in the mirror and improve while he's still fairly malleable.

This is just another example of them dropping the ball.
