He only entertained the idea if Hatton beat Pacquiao which didn't happen...now he's pursuing Pacquiao...

The most lucrative fights he goes for...

The word duck is thrown around too loosely...

With this logic I can argue Shane ducked Berto and Paul Williams...or maybe Hopkins ducked Adamek...
then why retire? and when he came back hes fighting a lightweight. why is that?

I stated in the other thread why he may have retired...why turn down a 6 figure payday?

And its called a tuneup...you don't jump back in the ring with someone who's live and a big threat

And Marquez is a better fighter and bigger name than any low level welterweights like Quintana, Collazo, etc...

Ray Leonard retired for practically 3 years when he came back and fought,

              Marvin Hagler at middleweight.

              Floyd "retires" for two,

              and comes back

              for

              Juan Manuel Marquez

              at welterweight?

As already said he had to either retire or fight Cotto, Marg, or Mosley. Floyd obviously would rather retire than fight those guys. I think he was genuinely done with boxing after the two big paydays he got and is only returning because of money problems. Assuming he gets past Marquez I think he fights Manny and then retires again, unless Mosley is washed up by then in which case Floyd will do that fight as well.
