    Was Mayweather's retirement genuine.

Was Mayweather's retirement genuine, because has not fought for almost 2 years and if Mayweather had not had so called money problems would he have come back at all?

A lot of people saw it is a publicity stunt but im wondering whether his retirement was genuine and that him owing money or being broke is the only reason he had come back.

Where do you stand on this?

He needed a rest and to recharge refresh , it was obvious he was tired with boxing , it was never going to be permanent he is too good and too young .

It wasn't a permanent retirement only temporary. Now if he says he retires after this fight I'll tell you he'll be back. He's too young to retire at the moment. There's still money to be made and fights I want to see.

He needed a break and to let his body heal from training, fighting and i feel like he was in a position to do it after the hatton fight because financially he was set for life.

If he didnt have the privilege of been financially set he wouldnt have been able to rest his body and would have to fight on like most least privilege boxers.

Maybe it was a plan to kinda raise his popularity for his comeback, but it could have been that he wanted a break... and wanted to take 2 years off, if he said that he would have only had a little time off and will come back soon he would be getting even more questions than he was getting before... so that might be why they said it was a permanent retirement, who knows.

I mean, he could have actually decided to retire from the sport... but started to miss it and decided to come back like he is saying, who knows... its just a thought I guess.

He may have got a little bored with it...and thought he could make a bunch of $ in other projects...but I don't think he was able to make nearly as much as he would lacing up the gloves...

And even tho they don't admit it, ppl wanted him back...when he was retired his name was brought up everyday on boxing forums...

I stand on the coincidence that PBF retired when Margarito was calling him out, and came out of retirement when Marg was suspended.

Floyd retired well after Margarito stopped mentioning his name...

I hope you don't seriously think Margarito cudda gave Floyd a problem...

Margarito is too big for Floyd, so was Cotto.
