What a bs article trying to make it seem as if Fortuna was necessary,when we all know this hypejob diva ducked Haney like a blatant coward after running his mouth non stop.

There’s a big difference between being handed a belt and calling people out and calling people out and actually stepping up in competition. Haney’s opposition record at the time he was hand wrapped an email title was 185-150. He has yet to face a live body. Yet in today’s Social Media vapid commentary that’s all it takes anymore, yap yap yap while accomplishing little. His next fight while interesting is with a boxer that’s long past his days of competitiveness. Haney is skilled but with all the talking he truly is the inside joke amongst fighters in the division. While all those around him have stepped up to capture titles he continues to fight less than worthy competition then calls out other fighters.

Haney's competition is trash! That's facts! However, he put himself in position to fight Lomachenko, and the WBC made Loma the "Franchise" Champion, and allowed him to bypass Haney. That's not Haney's fault! Then Ryan becomes the mandatory for Haney's title, and HE DECIDES not to fight Haney! Again, not Haney's fault! What Ryan did can't be seen as anything other than a DUCK! He's not fighting Tank, who he called out, and he's not fighting Pacquiao! He's fighting Javier Fortuna, who has no title, and even less of a draw than Haney! Totally unacceptable!

Yup! Youth lol, but now he knows the difference between the boxing business and the social media business. Diff strategies, but he can leverage both to maximize the $$ in short time like he wants. He's just needs to stay smart and not talk himself out of opportunities feeding social media. I mean it's not a bad fight don't get the hate Haney was supposed to fight Fortuna and cited a shoulder injury as the reason to pull out of their fight never bothered getting that fight rescheduled. Ryan was supposed to fight Linares a while ago that fight never happened and now he's fighting Fortuna while Haney is fighting Linares lol at least they are both former world champions. Haney vs Garcia will happen at 140 if anything these guys are still young they are building those fights just like they have with many fights in the past it will be bigger later especially if both get through with their tests.

I think Ryan beats Fortuna he's naturally bigger and is rangier Fortuna has power and is awkward but he jumps in with his head forward a lot and is waiting for a straight right hand down the middle.

Exactly and I don’t have a problem with this scenario. If anything it makes a potential Garcia-Haney fight that much bigger if both guys are victorious. I’m also happy that Javier Fortuna is getting a big opportunity because a lot of “high-risk/low reward” guys don’t.

Ryan can't box. He's a mad bomber, he uses his speed to jump in and blow things up. His counters probably hurt too, but he's easy to find. He doesn't move his head and he's getting away with other defects, so far. Fortuna has better boxing skills, without a doubt. This is a good test for Ryan, he might learn a thing or two.

I wouldn’t say Ryan Garcia can’t box, however I do agree that he sacrifices defense for offense. And no, he doesn’t move his head but he does “blow things up” with that left hook when you try to attack him. It’s a simple approach but it’s worked for him thus far.
